Description

The company builds gas power technology that gives customers cleaner, more efficient power and works on the energy technologies of the future.

This Agile ITR Lead Engineer role covers conversions, modifications, and uprates (CM&Us) in the Americas. You will guide work from the first customer inquiry through order receipt and outage execution, and act as the main Agile team contact for small, standardized, quick-turn CM&U work, turning customer needs into sound, buildable solutions.

You will lead and oversee other ITR (Inquiry to Remittance) engineers while carrying your own assigned work. Tasks include reviewing early opportunity inputs, supporting proposals and customer negotiations, checking order-entry requests, dividing work across the team, and settling technical and process escalations. The role works closely with Sales, Commercial Operations, Project Management, Design Engineering, Field Services, Sourcing, and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

  • Be the go-to contact for Sales, Commercial Operations, Project Management, Sourcing, and Engineering on Agile ITR matters in the Americas.
  • Split your time roughly 50/50 between assigning team tasks and doing hands-on ITR work, adjusting as business needs and team capacity change.
  • Supply technical expertise and build technical solutions across inquiry-to-order and order-to-remittance, covering configuration, scope, performance, schedule inputs, and the execution approach.
  • Check customer inquiries and gate requests so scope is clear, complete, and gives proposal and project teams usable direction.
  • Coach ITR engineers through proposal work, technical reviews, and customer negotiations.
  • Review order-entry requests and assign work so downstream engineering and project delivery succeed.
  • Own technical and operational escalations from internal and external stakeholders on assigned opportunities and projects.
  • Track team capacity and workload to keep delivery on time, operations efficient, and people developing.
  • Find process gaps and waste, then lead fixes with Agile leadership using Lean methods and KPI-driven problem solving.
  • Run key operational work such as short cycle requests, change orders, sales order assignments, non-conformance support, field requests, and other core ITR leader duties.
  • Work with Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, vendors, service shops, and other groups as needed to deliver projects.
  • Answer technical questions quickly and accurately using engineering tools, technical documents, past project work, and subject matter experts.
  • Help build a team culture of technical rigor, customer focus, accountability, and ongoing learning.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Deep knowledge of heavy-duty gas turbine technology.
  • Substantial experience in engineering, technology, or customer project engineering, including application engineering and/or requisition engineering.
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • A solid grasp of CM&U inquiry-to-order and order execution processes.
  • Preferred: prior field or site experience with the company heavy-duty gas turbines.
  • Stand out: knowledge of the company gas turbine product lines and MLI/BOM structures.
  • Stand out: strong skill in gas turbine application and requisition processes.
  • Stand out: good understanding of gas turbine operation in simple cycle and combined cycle applications.
  • Stand out: a proven ability to coach and mentor team members toward both business and career goals.
  • Stand out: a track record of success in global, cross-functional, matrixed organizations.
  • Stand out: strong communication, facilitation, and influencing skills, with a proactive, solution-driven approach.
  • Stand out: the ability to work well in a fast-changing setting with many kinds of organizations and people across global sites.
  • Stand out: a strong customer focus and willingness to challenge the status quo for better results for the business and customers.
  • Stand out: Spanish fluency is a plus.
