Description

The company is one of the largest independent mobile games companies in the world, with more than 2,500 people across 12 studios.

Its portfolio includes some of the biggest mobile games, which reach top chart positions worldwide and attract over 25 million daily active users.

This role sits in the PeopleFun studio, a Dallas-based mobile game studio run by game industry veterans, with more than 25 million monthly players and several mid-core and casual games in development.

The New Games division quickly prototypes and market-tests several game concepts. You will own analytics for it as an individual contributor, influencing several titles and setting the analytical standards and priorities for the team.

You will work with Product, Engineering and Marketing leadership to turn complex data into clear recommendations that guide product direction in an AI-heavy environment. Games launch and sunset every few weeks, so you need to be comfortable with speed, making calls on incomplete data, and building foundations that keep working as the portfolio changes.

Responsibilities

  • Set the standards for interpreting data so teams can reach sound conclusions quickly and keep iterating on each game.
  • Work with Product and Marketing to design A/B tests with clear hypotheses, metrics and guardrails.
  • Build and maintain scalable Looker dashboards that show Product and Marketing what they need on core KPIs: retention, monetization, gameplay engagement and user acquisition.
  • Set quality standards for analyses and charts that non-analysts produce with AI tools, and check outputs for accuracy and sound interpretation without becoming a blocker.
  • Improve the semantic layer and the routing from questions to data sources that AI tools use, measure their accuracy, and build and test reusable AI skills that speed up data work.
  • Work with engineering to check tracking and data pipelines, and find and fix discrepancies that affect reporting.
  • Keep New Games metrics aligned with established definitions from mature titles where possible, and document deliberate choices where new concepts need something different.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of analytics experience, including product or games analytics.
  • Expert-level SQL and Looker.
  • Deep experience designing and analyzing experiments, including A/B, sequential and multivariate tests.
  • Experience with semantic layers and writing context or reusable skills for AI tools, with a practical sense of where AI analytics tools work and where they fail.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous business problems into structured analytical frameworks.
  • Experience working with Data Engineering to shape scalable infrastructure and validate data quality.
  • A record of influencing product and marketing decisions with senior stakeholders.
  • Able to work hybrid from the Dallas office.
  • Preferred: background in mobile or free-to-play games and a real interest in games and player experience.
  • Preferred: familiarity with mobile advertising and user acquisition data.
  • Preferred: BigQuery.
  • Preferred: Python or another scripting language.
