Lead Cyber Security Engineer (Cloud & Micro-Segmentation)

Description

You will lead the design, purchase and rollout of hardware, software and network infrastructure, working closely with the wider technology team.

Your main goal is to make sure current and planned security frameworks meet top quality and compliance standards.

The team sits within cloud technology services, which builds integrated risk reduction capabilities that support long-term architecture goals. You will design scalable, joined-up security architectures, shape vendor product roadmaps and make tools work together across a complex network and cloud security setup, with the client experience always in view.

This is a full-time role in the Systems & Engineering job family, within the Technology group.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside program directors, senior architects, steering committees, the CISO and partners from CTI to deliver large, company-wide transformation programs.
• With the Cyber Security Lab, architecture and engineering teams, design, deploy and maintain VMware vDefend security controls and micro-segmentation.
• Support the Security Architecture Council and its working groups, building trust and alignment across teams.
• Help the company move onto the cloud continuum and drive wider digital transformation.
• Write automation scripts in Python, Shell and similar languages to cut manual work, such as software installs and upgrades, database and OS patching and server provisioning.
• Build detailed project plans, run thorough impact analyses and resolve complex, high-impact technical faults quickly to restore service.
• Review technical requirement documents, set hardware specifications and keep improving engineering processes.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, giving technical and strategic direction while working with a high degree of autonomy.
• Tackle recurring issues by designing and delivering long-term fixes, and set technical direction through those decisions.
• Weigh risk in business decisions to protect the company's reputation, clients and assets, and keep work compliant with laws, regulations and internal policy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, technology infrastructure or IT engineering at a large enterprise.
• Proven leadership in senior engineering or leadership roles, having led large-scale programs or technology transformation initiatives.
• Hands-on work with micro-segmentation and network segmentation tools such as Illumio, VMware vDefend, Zscaler or Palo Alto Networks.
• Deep knowledge of cybersecurity products, especially cloud security, firewalls and network, macro and micro-segmentation.
• Thorough grasp of industry security frameworks and corporate technology compliance standards.
• Strong sense of ownership, able to juggle several concurrent projects under pressure in a cross-functional setting with frequent change.
• Advanced analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and spoken communication, able to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Solid understanding of proxy functions, features and network traffic management.
• A bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: a master's degree.
• Highly desirable: Linux or Unix system administration experience.

Conditions

Full-time position based in Poland.

Hybrid working model, with up to 2 days of working from home per week, in a business casual workplace.

Base salary is competitive, though it is potentially on offer and subject to a final offer.

Salary range for the primary location: 241 750,00 zł to 411 650,00 zł.
