Description

The company's C5ISR Center Cybersecurity Division is hiring a junior engineer to design, build and secure next-generation tactical cyber infrastructure and mission-critical defense systems.

You will use Rust and other memory-safe, systems-level languages to build efficient, secure and resilient software for embedded platforms, military ground vehicles and tactical networks. You will work with a multidisciplinary engineering team to modernize tactical cyber capabilities and reduce vulnerabilities.

Job category: Information Technology. Full time. Regular employee type. Minimum clearance to start: Secret. Travel of up to 10%, within the continental US.

Responsibilities

  • Write clean, safe and highly efficient code, mainly in Rust, with some supporting modules in C, C++ or Go.
  • Redesign and harden legacy software modules with memory-safe architectures to prevent memory-corruption exploits such as buffer overflows.
  • Help integrate software components with custom hardware, in-vehicle data networks and tactical C5ISR communication systems.
  • Review, debug and test software through automated pipelines, checking it against strict design requirements and defense performance metrics.
  • Contribute to requirements analysis, architecture work and technical documentation that follows DoD software engineering standards.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or a related STEM field.
  • 1 to 3 years of professional software development experience, or equivalent military or co-op experience.
  • A solid grasp of Rust fundamentals, including safe and unsafe Rust, ownership and borrowing rules, and concurrency.
  • Hands-on experience or working familiarity with C, C++ or Go.
  • Proficiency with Linux, shell scripting and Git version control.
  • An active DoD Secret security clearance, which you must maintain.
  • Preferred: familiarity with memory-safe coding practices, static analysis tools and cryptographic implementation approaches.
  • Preferred: exposure to embedded systems development, hardware abstraction layers or real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Preferred: foundational understanding of DoD cybersecurity frameworks such as RMF and STIGs.
  • Preferred: DoD 8140/8570 compliance, for example Security+ CE.

Conditions

Full-time position with a Secret clearance requirement and travel of up to 10% within the continental US.

Salary depends on factors such as location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, prior experience, skills, education and certifications.

The proposed salary range is $69,600 - 142,700 USD.

The company is an equal opportunity employer.

Benefits

  • Flexible time off and access to learning resources.
  • Comprehensive benefits including healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, continuing education and time off.
  • Competitive compensation and learning and development opportunities.
