Description

The company is hiring a senior Java Spark developer for its core engineering team.

The role is mainly backend work on high-performance, scalable, and secure systems, with some big data processing on Apache Spark.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of enterprise Java experience and a solid background in Spark-based data processing. Angular UI knowledge is welcome but not the main focus.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run microservices-based backend systems in Java and Spring Boot that are robust, scalable, and easy to deploy.
  • Design and tune large distributed data pipelines in Apache Spark.
  • Write complex SQL and NoSQL queries and improve database performance for high-throughput workloads.
  • Design and build secure RESTful APIs with clear documentation.
  • Lead code reviews, set coding standards, and mentor junior and mid-level developers.
  • Work with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps to ship complete features end to end.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software development, mostly in backend engineering.
  • Deep Java skills (Java 8, 11, 17, or later), including multithreading, concurrency, memory management, and design patterns.
  • Broad experience with the Spring ecosystem: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Spring Data.
  • A proven record of building and tuning production data pipelines with Apache Spark (Core, SQL, or Streaming).
  • Solid knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, and NoSQL systems such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
  • Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions), Maven or Gradle, and Docker.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Clear communication and the ability to collaborate well in an agile team.
  • A record of owning projects from initial concept through to deployment.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with or hands-on use of Angular, including TypeScript, RxJS, and state management, to support full-stack work.
  • Nice to have: experience deploying and managing applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of Kubernetes.
