Java Software Engineer (Mid)

Description

The company builds communication technology that public safety customers depend on, and the team works on a mission-critical TETRA-based communication system.

The Dimetra network management group handles system configuration and monitoring, and the products are built and tested entirely at the R&D center in Krakow.

You will join a scrum team that owns the full software lifecycle for customer features.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, test and maintain customer features alongside experienced engineers.
• Take part in the full software lifecycle within a scrum team.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of Java experience, working with JDK 21.
• Solid understanding of Java concurrency.
• Working knowledge of Python or BASH for scripting, automation and tool building.
• Strong grasp of networking protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP, and IP programming on Linux.
• Hands-on experience with Linux and virtualization.
• Ability to write thorough JUnit tests.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Additional knowledge or skills: dependency injection with CDI, Spring or Quarkus.
• Additional knowledge or skills: familiarity with the Netty framework.
• Additional knowledge or skills: experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Artifactory and JIRA.
• Additional knowledge or skills: knowledge of WebSockets and garbage collection tuning.
• Additional knowledge or skills: experience handling audio streams such as RTP, SRTP and ACELP.

Conditions

Work from the Krakow office at Czerwone Maki 82 two days per week.

Travel of 10-25%, domestic.

Relocation is provided.
