Java Developer – Assistant Vice President

Description

The company is hiring an Assistant Vice President level Java Developer in Irving, Texas, to design, build and maintain high-quality backend applications for financial systems used at global scale.

You will join a technology team that works across the full software lifecycle and gives you considerable independence and ownership of technical decisions, on complex problems in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Create and upkeep Java and Spring Boot components, making sound architecture choices with little supervision.
• Develop backend services, REST APIs and microservices within a service-oriented architecture, covering the whole stack.
• Write unit, integration and performance tests with JUnit and Mockito so code is reliable and ready for production.
• Review teammates' code and give specific, constructive technical feedback that raises code quality.
• Examine existing applications for vulnerabilities, security gaps and performance bottlenecks, then fix and tune them.
• Assess new development tools, libraries and methods, and adopt those that raise delivery quality and engineering standards.
• Work with internal technology groups and stakeholders to pin down technical needs, suggest programming approaches and help put enterprise systems in place.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of hands-on Java development, with deep knowledge of Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Web and Spring Data.
• Advanced understanding of core Java, including threading, collections, exception handling, JDBC, object-oriented design and principles, and SOA design patterns.
• Proven experience building, deploying and managing containerized applications on Kubernetes and Docker.
• Solid record designing and delivering microservices and service-oriented architectures that communicate over REST.
• Practical experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines and Agile methods across the development lifecycle.
• Working knowledge of SQL, with Oracle familiarity preferred.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to work across technical teams and explain ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.

Conditions

Full-time position.

Hybrid model: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Located in Irving, Texas, United States.

Base salary range: $107,120.00 - $160,680.00.
