IT Support Engineer Intern

Description

The company is hiring an IT Support Engineer Intern for its Warrenville, IL office. This role is onsite.

The internship starts in January 2027 on a part-time schedule for the rest of the academic year, then moves to full-time hours over the summer.

You will give end user computing support to a spread-out group of users. You will help set up, install, and deploy hardware and software for current refresh projects, and help resolve problems with the existing device fleet, including Windows 10 remediation. You will also keep asset records current in the ITSM toolset.

Responsibilities

• Set up and configure endpoints by following documented processes, as part of current refresh projects.
• Help move the endpoint fleet from Windows 10 to Windows 11 as directed.
• Support end users in your assigned areas by following documented procedures and company policies.
• Record every asset change (additions, changes, and removals) under the asset management protocol in ServiceNow.
• Deliver software and application installs according to software install policies so licensing stays compliant.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, internet, network, application, configuration, and peripheral issues assigned through the ITSM toolset, and keep tickets updated and close them on time.
• Take on other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• You must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program at an accredited university or college, in a field related to this work.
• Communicate clearly in plain language, and adjust your tone from formal to informal to suit your audience.
• Use Microsoft Windows, Mac, or other technical tools well enough to complete assignments.
• Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, preferably Windows 10 and 11, and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Bring strong analytical and organizational skills, juggle several projects, and stay precise on details.
• Work well on a team spread across locations, with a positive attitude and a strong customer service focus.
• Understand basic network infrastructure, including switches, hubs, and patch cabling.
• Experience troubleshooting software installations is an asset.
• Familiarity with Google apps such as Gmail, Docs, Sites, and Groups is an asset.

This is an onsite role in Warrenville, IL.

Part-time hours during the academic year, moving to full-time hours in the summer, starting January 2027.

Pay is $24.00 per hour at this location.
