Instructional Designer - FLEX

The company is a large global firm based in Research Triangle Park, NC, that supplies technology for in-store retail operations, including self-checkout and loyalty systems used by major retail brands worldwide.

The role creates and delivers product and solution training for the company's global sales channels and business partners, helping them sell the company's products.

You will help manage course development, storyboarding interactive web-based courses for new and updated sales channel training.

You will work with subject matter experts, run needs analyses, and check that learning solutions meet business goals.

Responsibilities

• Work with global technical representatives and channel managers to find training needs and design solutions that address them.
• Collect content for training from portfolio managers, services managers, and technical presales experts.
• Create sales materials and training that show how technology and software solve business problems.
• Present live and recorded product solution updates to global sales and services teams.
• Keep online and instructor-led courses, curriculum materials, and assessments current.
• Review and update sales education development plans so they match team, organization, and company goals.
• Choose the most cost-effective training methods, such as moving instructor-led courses to eLearning or blended formats.
• Use rapid eLearning tools to build responsive web training.
• Take on other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree and at least 3+ years of designing and developing instructor-led and web-based eLearning for technical sales audiences, or equivalent experience.
• Skill with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, and Camtasia.
• Experience designing responsive eLearning for delivery across multiple platforms.
• Intermediate multimedia skills, including graphics editing, template development, and interface design using Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Ability to review and improve training materials so they meet learning objectives, using feedback from subject matter experts and stakeholders.
• Experience creating and maintaining eLearning modules, simulations, instructor-led sessions, and quick reference guides.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Experience managing content in a learning management system such as SABA.
• Ability to create, edit, and publish screencasts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to adapt to change and come up with new solutions.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• A strong grasp of the company's product portfolio, sales channels, and processes, which is essential.
• Familiarity with the company's global sales channels, which is essential.
• Some experience developing sales enablement solutions, which is essential.
• Intermediate knowledge of instructional design and adult learning methods, plus a willingness to keep learning.
• A genuine desire to learn the company's product portfolios, which is essential.
