Description

The team runs the core progression and reward systems of Rainbow Six Siege. You will work closely with the Senior Economy Designer, the Monetization team and other design teams.

You will run the Battle Pass rewards and progression in line with the Monetization team's content roadmap, work with other design teams on onboarding and seasonal engagement, and, with the Senior Economy Designer and the Analyst, simulate how new design and balancing changes will affect the economy.

The company is a global games publisher whose titles include Assassin's Creed, Rainbow Six and Just Dance.

Responsibilities

  • Run the Battle Pass rewards and progression structure so it matches the Monetization team's content roadmap
  • Tune XP, clearance levels, reputation rewards, event rewards and post-match rewards until they hit their defined targets
  • Work with other design teams to improve onboarding rewards and seasonal engagement
  • Plan and adjust reward pacing across seasons to keep players motivated and playing, using player psychology and motivation drivers
  • Research and share competitive benchmarks on progression and rewards (Battle Pass, onboarding, mastery, challenges) from comparable live-service games, breaking them down to guide design choices
  • Bring original ideas to reward and progression features that fit the game's overall vision
  • Write up designs and balancing changes and keep those documents current
  • Work with the Analyst to monitor the health of the game economy on an ongoing basis
  • Work with the Analyst to produce seasonal reports on the game's economic performance
  • Simulate the impact of new design and balancing changes with the Senior Economy Designer before they go live
  • Help define the metrics and data collection needed for progression and reward systems
  • Keep the Acquisition, Retention and Monetization levers in view so progression and reward design supports the wider business goals

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of game design experience, ideally on live-service or GaaS titles
  • Interest in economics and player progression systems, with a working foundation in both
  • Comfortable with quantitative data and simulation tools
  • Strong passion for games, especially competitive and live-service titles
  • Strong analytical and math skills
  • Able to model, tune and simulate reward and progression systems
  • Able to work constructively with design, monetization and analytics teams and communicate clearly with them
  • Detail-oriented, able to maintain and improve complex systems where parts depend on each other
  • Good grasp of player motivation, learning theory and progression pacing
  • Understand Acquisition, Retention and Monetization levers and game business models
  • Working knowledge of modeling tools such as Excel, VBA, Tableau and simulation software
  • Able to run competitive benchmarks and turn them into practical recommendations
  • Keeps improving, takes initiative and pushes their own limits
  • Creative, and able to propose features that fit the game's vision
  • Disciplined about documentation, keeping design and balancing information clear and current
  • Fluent in French
