The company builds compact, solid-state radars that steer their beam electronically and perform in all weather. Its patented metamaterial technology is paired with software to deliver high performance at commercial price points.
Target markets include autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft and drones, border and critical infrastructure security, smart cities, automotive, transportation, and airspace management, including urban air mobility and UTM.
The company is growing quickly and is hiring an Instructional Designer to build training for its customers.
Applicants whose skills roughly match the role are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every point.
Responsibilities
Run audience, needs, task, and performance analyses for training on radar hardware and software.
Watch field deployments and customer training sessions to learn how Solutions Engineers actually work.
Build role-based curricula and learning paths covering onboarding, product releases, and continuing education.
Turn complicated technical material into instruction that is accurate, clear, and easy to follow.
Produce asynchronous courses, interactive modules, simulations, scenario exercises, assessments, labs, job aids, and field reference guides.
Design training that links software workflows to hands-on hardware work such as installation, configuration, calibration, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Write measurable learning objectives and make sure content, practice, and assessments match them.
Work with engineers, product managers, Solutions Engineers, support staff, technical writers, and other experts to collect and check content.
Work with the video content developer on scripts, storyboards, demonstrations, animations, and other media.
Set up templates, standards, and repeatable development processes for the training program.
Handle content review, publishing, version control, and updates tied to product lifecycle changes.
Measure how well training works using learner feedback, assessment results, field readiness signs, and stakeholder input.
Suggest improvements based on performance data, product changes, customer needs, and field experience.
Juggle several projects and release-driven deadlines without losing technical accuracy or instructional quality.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in instructional design, learning sciences, educational technology, engineering education, technical communication, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
At least three years designing professional or technical training.
Proven experience building asynchronous e-learning and performance support materials.
Working knowledge of adult learning principles and design approaches such as ADDIE, SAM, backward design, and Bloom's Taxonomy.
Skill with an e-learning authoring tool such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or an equivalent.
Experience creating meaningful assessments, hands-on exercises, and scenario-based learning.
Experience working alongside engineers or other technical experts.
Ability to pick up unfamiliar technical systems and explain them accurately to different audiences.
Strong project management skills and the ability to work on your own in a product-driven setting.
Desired: experience developing training for products that combine hardware and software.
Desired: background in radar, RF systems, sensors, electronics, telecommunications, aerospace, defense, robotics, industrial equipment, or another complex technical field.
Desired: familiarity with networking, system integration, data visualization, command-line tools, APIs, or cloud-connected applications.
Desired: experience with video or visual design tools such as Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, or similar.
Desired: familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive learning design.
Desired: experience supporting field engineers, Solutions Engineers, customer enablement, or technical support teams.
Desired: a degree or professional certification in instructional design, learning and development, or a related discipline.
