Description

The company is building software that finds and fixes serious vulnerabilities. It trains and scales security AI agents that look for zero-day flaws in large customer codebases and popular open source projects.

The founding team has worked on data, infrastructure, security and LLMs, with technical leads who previously worked at DeepMind, Databricks, Square, and Faire. The company wants strong engineers who enjoy problems at the crossover of AI, security and infrastructure.

The team is small and growing, and the role sits at the center of its platform.

This role covers building and running the cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes environments under the company's production services. Those services create sandboxes, coordinate workloads and manage compute resources across their full lifecycle.

You will design and build infrastructure services and APIs, make systems more reliable and efficient, and harden the security of compute environments. The work spans application code, distributed systems, containers, networking and cloud infrastructure.

You will take systems from design through deployment and ongoing operation. As the company scales, you will help shape a platform that stays reliable, secure and simple to run.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run the cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters that serve production and the engineering teams.
  • Design and develop production services that manage sandboxes, including their APIs and the distributed coordination for allocation, isolation, health checks, failure recovery and resource lifecycle.
  • Improve workload scheduling, autoscaling and capacity planning for demand that is growing and uneven.
  • Harden infrastructure security through workload isolation, access control, network policies and secure configuration.
  • Cut startup latency, raise resource utilization and remove system bottlenecks to improve performance and cost.
  • Build observability and operational tools that let engineers see how systems behave and fix problems quickly.
  • Trace production issues across service code, Kubernetes, Linux, networking and cloud infrastructure, and ship lasting fixes.
  • Improve infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines and upgrade processes so changes are repeatable and dependable.

Requirements

  • You have built and run cloud infrastructure and production systems in infrastructure, platform, SRE or a similar role.
  • You have strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including scheduling, networking, resource management, scaling and troubleshooting.
  • You are familiar with deployment models such as SaaS, Bring-Your-Own-Cloud and air-gapped.
  • You are a strong software engineer in a language such as Go and have designed, built and maintained production services.
  • You have built distributed systems that handle concurrency, retries, partial failures and resource lifecycle.
  • You have a solid grasp of Linux, containers, networking and cloud security fundamentals.
  • You have experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD and production observability.
  • You can weigh reliability, security, performance, cost and operational complexity against each other.
  • You take ownership from design and implementation through deployment and ongoing operation.
  • You communicate clearly and can work through ambiguous problems with other engineers.
  • You are based in San Francisco or willing to relocate there.
  • Bonus points for: deep experience with AWS and EKS, Helm, and Terraform or Pulumi; building infrastructure control planes, Kubernetes controllers, operators or workload orchestration systems; sandboxing, virtualization or secure execution environments; supporting workloads with high concurrency or fast-changing compute demand; building infrastructure for AI platforms, developer tools or security products.

Conditions

The role is based in San Francisco, and office lunch and dinner are provided when you work from the San Francisco office.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on any basis protected by law.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity.
  • Health, vision and dental insurance.
  • Office lunch and dinner when working from the San Francisco office.
  • Direct ownership of foundational systems and a say in technical direction.
  • Work at the leading edge of AI and security.
