The role sits in the software engineering job family and centers on the Platform-as-a-Service layer of the CASA Compute Environment (CCE), which offers secure, multi-tenant, high-performance, highly available Kubernetes clusters on Linux.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and provide operational support for the Platform-as-a-Service component of the CCE.
• Keep the platform reliable, scalable and secure, and keep cluster performance at its best.
• Make sure the platform meets the needs of the missions and applications it supports.

Requirements

• Hold technical training, a certification or a degree.
• Have 6+ years of related experience.
• Be a US citizen.
• Currently hold an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• Work hands-on with the Linux command line and its standard tools.
• Write scripts in Bash and Python.
• Use containerization tools such as Docker or Podman.
• Administer and monitor Kubernetes clusters.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes workload problems involving ingress, performance, networking and storage.
• Apply infrastructure as code using automation tools, including Ansible.
• Write, deploy and maintain Helm charts.
• Use Git for source control, branching strategies and team collaboration.
• Desired: experience with the Atlassian suite, such as Jira and Confluence.
• Desired: experience working in a DevOps setting that follows Agile principles.
• Desired: experience with system monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana.
• Desired: experience with, or willingness to learn, building Python applications such as REST services and microservices.
• Desired: CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) certification.

Conditions

Onsite in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, USA.

40 scheduled hours per week.

No travel required.

Regular requisition with no public trust clearance requirement.

The likely salary range is $151,300 to $204,700, but this is not a guarantee. Pay depends on experience, geographic location and possibly contract terms, and may fall outside this range.
