Systems Engineer - Level 4 - Space AHT

Description

The Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) and Ground-based Weapons Systems (GWS) group within the company's Space Systems business is hiring a systems engineer for its Huntsville, AL office.

The team builds mission-critical products and works closely with the end user and with each other to make sure what they build serves the mission directly. The work is fast-moving and relies on modern software practices, including Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Relocation assistance may be available.

Secret clearance required to start: Yes. Clearance type: Secret.

Responsibilities

• Plan the technical work for complete systems.
• Integrate systems and handle verification and validation.
• Analyse cost, risk, supportability and effectiveness for total systems.
• Communicate technical information clearly and present technical approaches and findings.
• Travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) from an accredited university plus 8 years of related work experience, or a Master's degree in STEM plus 6 years of related work experience.
• Have experience applying Model Based Systems Engineering to develop and model requirements.
• Have experience managing requirements or systems engineering artifacts with tools such as DOORS, Cameo or JIRA.
• Communicate well and think critically, explaining technical content to audiences with different backgrounds.
• Work on-site in an office.
• Hold a current, active, in-scope U.S. Government DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application.
• Preferred: Have experience turning stakeholder feedback from several organisations (for example teams, IPTs or sectors) into practical solutions.
• Preferred: Have experience taking systems engineering requirements or artifacts through the systems engineering lifecycle.
• Preferred: Have experience with requirement verification methods.

Conditions

Based in Huntsville, AL, on-site in an office environment.

Travel up to 10% of the time.

Secret clearance must be active at the time of application and is required to start.

This requisition is eligible for ERAP under the Space ERAP criteria.

Base salary range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00. The range is a general guideline; the final offer depends on factors such as scope and responsibilities, experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
