Description

The company's Enterprise Capabilities team is hiring a mid-level hydraulic modeling engineer based in Bucharest to help analyse, design and assess hydraulic systems for water resources, stormwater, flood risk and infrastructure work.

The role suits someone with solid technical experience who can handle defined tasks on their own and works well with multidisciplinary teams.

The work covers building hydraulic models and verifying sewer networks, plus integrated model development, comparing options, and helping scope and plan projects, including checking flow survey data.

Enterprise Capabilities is the company's main route for sharing work across regions and time zones. The team supplies specialist technical support to regional and global project teams, and it has over 3000 technical professionals across nine countries plus remote technical anchors.

Responsibilities

  • Scope hydraulic solutions that resolve network constraints so the network can support single or multiple developments, and check each solution against long-term plans.
  • Carry out hydraulic and hydrologic calculations.
  • Write and present technical reports and documents that explain modeling results clearly.
  • Help collect data, check model inputs and outputs for quality, and support calibration and validation.
  • Work with engineers, planners, GIS specialists and project managers.
  • Make sure work meets relevant standards, regulations, best practice and client specifications.
  • Help improve processes and technical standards within the team.
  • Coach junior staff on modeling tasks when needed.
  • Help build a team culture focused on quality, safety and collaboration.
  • Manage your own work within agreed budgets, schedules and quality targets.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hydraulic modeling and analysis experience.
  • A degree in civil, environmental or water engineering.
  • Strong skills in hydraulic modeling and asset management software, specifically InfoWorks ICM and InfoAsset.
  • Working knowledge of SewerGEMS, InfoWorks WS PRO, WaterGEMS and GIS software.
  • Nice to have: none stated separately in the posting.

Conditions

Hybrid working under the company's Freedom to Grow policy, which emphasises flexibility, trust and performance.

Newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at a company office as a condition of employment.

Equal opportunity employer; applicant information is kept confidential under EEO guidelines.

Benefits

  • Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D and disability cover, paid time off, leave of absence, voluntary benefits, perks, flexible work options, well-being resources, an employee assistance program, business travel insurance, service recognition awards, a retirement savings plan and an employee stock purchase plan.
  • Training and development programmes aimed at technical and leadership growth.
  • Work on local and global projects using current technology alongside a network of experts.
