Description

Growth Manager for an AI-native platform that helps consumer brands launch and grow in the US. The company is an early-stage, venture-backed startup. Founders still make the calls on their brands, and the company builds software and AI workflows so a small team can run growth and operations for a growing set of brands.

The company started with international beauty and CPG brands entering the US and now also works with US brands. Creator seeding is its largest revenue line today, and D2C is being built into the next major growth driver, helping brands prove demand, lift conversion and repeat purchase, and build the economics to support retail.

The company is backed by a top-tier venture accelerator, has a growing roster of signed brands with several already live, and is led by a small, founder-led team. The title is confidential.

Responsibilities

  • Own D2C growth across the merchant portfolio, starting with about ten merchants at different stages and growing as more brands go live.
  • Set D2C direction with the CEO, then decide independently what each merchant does next, why, and in what order, and carry it out.
  • Work with Account Managers, who own the merchant relationship and overall account growth, plus the creator and engineering teams.
  • Start as a hands-on individual contributor: run Meta as the core channel with TikTok and creator content close behind, at roughly $1k/week per merchant to begin. Build and manage accounts, brief and test creative, improve landing pages, and own conversion.
  • When engineering is needed, turn the growth decision into a clear, testable spec and stay responsible until it works in production.
  • Turn what works into a repeatable system: scorecards, decision rules, AI workflows, automations, and product requirements, so one strong operator can support a growing portfolio without adding headcount in proportion. The goal is profitable growth for merchants, then making that success repeatable.
  • Quickly find the real limit on each merchant's profitable D2C growth, even in businesses you did not build.
  • Set priorities for growth time, budget, and engineering work across the portfolio by each merchant's stage and opportunity.
  • Ship the highest-leverage work yourself across acquisition, creative, conversion, offer, lifecycle, and retention.
  • Build the growth operating system: scorecards, prioritized backlogs, decision logs, weekly reviews, and simulations.
  • Spot recurring workflows that should become software, and give engineering clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Own results against agreed D2C sales targets for each merchant and the revenue those sales bring the company.
  • First 90 days: every active D2C merchant has an agreed growth plan covering stage, main constraint, 12-week target, next actions, and portfolio priority. At least two merchants run a repeatable acquisition or retention loop that meets agreed contribution-margin and payback targets. Every active merchant goes through the same planning and review process. The three most valuable recurring workflows are written up as product requirements, and at least one runs as an automation across three or more merchants.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on paid social work, with Meta as your main platform and comfort running TikTok and creator-led campaigns.
  • Experience on both sides: at an agency managing many accounts with competing priorities, and in-house at a DTC or CPG brand that sells physical products.
  • Creative-led: you brief creators, cut ads, test hooks, and own the landing page, not only bid optimization.
  • Solid grasp of account structure, creative testing, and measurement, and of making calls with limited budgets.
  • You think in systems and default to AI and automation. You can describe what a tool or agent should do, even if you do not build it yourself.
  • You have worked inside small companies (under 200 people) and are comfortable deciding with incomplete data.
  • Nice to have: beauty, skincare, or Asia-to-US brand experience.
  • Nice to have: TikTok Shop, affiliate, or creator program experience.
  • Nice to have: AEO/GEO or SEO experience.
  • Nice to have: you have built something from zero to one before.
