Description

You will be the company's first senior growth hire, building the demand generation engine that supports its next stage of scale.

The company recently launched the Financial Data Platform, an ERP replacement that takes a new approach to accounting, a field that has worked the same way for centuries. It is not a product that is 15% better than earlier tools. It changes how the work gets done.

The year ahead is expected to be a major one for the company, and the FDP is drawing attention. Your job is to turn that attention into pipeline and awareness that attracts well-matched customers.

The role combines building from zero, as at a Seed or Series A company, for this newer product with inheriting demand gen programs that already work, hundreds of satisfied customers, and a content and product marketing team to support you.

The company is backed by IVP, Menlo and Founders Fund and raised an $81M Series B. It is working on one of the most technically demanding areas in tech.

Accounting runs on a data model that is centuries-old. The financial database is still limited by the journal entry, so teams rely on many tools, Excel files used as databases, and AI that lacks context. The company's vision is to make the system of record the system of decision, so people in every role can make faster, real-time decisions from their financial data. The team sees 'finance engineers' building something closer to a modern data platform than today's ERPs.

The market is large and the timing suits reinvention. The team is talented and often playful.

Responsibilities

  • Start as a player coach with 2 to 3 direct reports, then grow the growth function over time.
  • Connect campaigns and channels to pipeline growth across products, working closely with the BDR motion.
  • Build an enterprise account-based marketing motion to reach top target accounts.
  • Run paid channels with agency support, acting as the company's chief experimenter.
  • Work with product marketing and content leadership to set up feedback loops and share growth findings.
  • Set the quality bar for growth through strong editing, feedback and coaching, and lead by example with your own high-standard deliverables.
  • Form a clear view of what growth should look like as AI reshapes the discipline, and help the company stay at the edge of what is possible.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience, including 5+ years in growth marketing.
  • You have owned growth end to end, deciding what to work on rather than only carrying out someone else's plan.
  • You get fully involved: you care about the work, the company and your colleagues, ask questions, bring ideas and stay invested.
  • You blend analytical and creative thinking, comfortable with a spreadsheet and a sticky-note brainstorm alike.
  • You are a strong editor and coach who raises the level of those around you.
  • You have marketed a technical B2B product, not purely a consumer one.
  • You take excellent work seriously but not yourself, and you believe a great team laughs together and creates something special together.
  • You have worked at Series A or Seed companies and have also seen scale at Series C+ companies.
  • Experience in accounting, finance or fintech.
  • Background in, or exposure to, events marketing.
