Description

The Campaign Finance Board is an independent, nonpartisan city agency that helps New Yorkers have more say in their elections. It works to make local democracy more open and fair by removing obstacles to taking part.

The agency helps residents vote, back candidates for city office, and run for office themselves. Its work includes NYC Votes, which meets people where they are with reliable election information and voting plans; the citywide Voter Guide, delivered to voters' homes; public matching funds, which let candidates rely on many small donors instead of a few large ones; and public reporting on how candidates raise and spend money.

The Public Affairs division informs New Yorkers about elections, encourages them to take part, makes election information easy to access, and reaches underrepresented communities. Its teams are Marketing and Digital Communications, Partnerships and Outreach, Language Access, and Public Relations. The division publishes the Voter Guide, runs the citywide Debates Program, and manages NYC Votes.

The Marketing and Digital Communications Unit handles the agency's branding and direct outreach to voters, including multi-channel ads, social media, website content, and email and text messages. It also produces the Voter Guide, which reaches over 5 million registered voters.

This role reports to the Senior Art Director in the unit and creates print and digital materials that encourage civic participation in NYC. Candidates who do not match every item below are still encouraged to apply.

  • At least 2 years of professional graphic design experience.
  • Adaptable self-starter with a growth mindset.
  • Include a portfolio of past work with your application.
  • Preferred: knowledge of languages other than English.
