Description

The company is a global provider of analytics, technology and clinical research services to the life sciences industry, and the Global Health Economics team is a consultancy inside it.

The team has around 200 multidisciplinary professionals across 12 locations, delivering projects in more than 50 countries. Clients include large pharmaceutical and biotech companies, public health providers and regulators, and the work covers a wide range of therapeutic and disease areas.

This role supports the team as a Consultant Medical Writer and sits within the HTA Evidence & Strategy Centre of Excellence and the Value Communications Centre of Excellence.

The focus is medical writing for health economic and outcomes research (HEOR) and HTA. You will write sections of projects and work with senior colleagues to co-manage smaller workstreams, project tasks and thought leadership work. Typical deliverables include EU Joint Clinical Assessment (JCA) dossiers, HTA dossiers (mainly NICE, SMC and NCPE), global value dossiers (GVDs), payer objection handlers, value stories, literature review protocols, evidence synthesis and modelling reports, and HEOR manuscripts and conference abstracts. Readers include life sciences clients, payers, providers and regulators.

You will work in cross-functional, cross-country project teams, writing, performing quality control and helping manage delivery, including guiding and reviewing junior colleagues. The role also gives exposure to payer-focused value communications, HTA strategy and HEOR, and may support business development.

The ideal candidate understands the matrix structures common in pharmaceutical clients and knows how to work within them to meet client goals. You will read clinical, economic and real-world evidence and turn it into clear value narratives and payer communication strategies that support market access and reimbursement.

Responsibilities

  • Write high-quality content for GVDs, HTA dossiers (JCA, NICE and/or G-BA), HEOR study reports (such as SLRs, NMAs, ITCs, models, secondary database research, manuscripts and abstracts) and payer materials such as objection handlers and value propositions, with limited guidance from the project manager.
  • Work well with colleagues across disciplines and locations.
  • Co-manage small projects, workstreams and thought leadership initiatives with senior colleagues, which includes guiding junior writers, reviewing their first drafts and supporting client contact.
  • Perform quality control on HEOR documents and keep audit trails of changes.
  • Mentor and train less experienced medical writers, and contribute to training that raises team skills and quality standards.
  • Support the team's Centre of Excellence initiatives.
  • Manage your own time to meet project needs, communicating clearly with project managers, your line manager and the resource manager so that utilisation and compliance targets are met.
  • Submit your CV in English. No visa support is provided.

Requirements

  • Substantial medical writing experience in HEOR, HTA or payer materials, which is essential. You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a strategic outlook, and the ability to spot issues early and propose fixes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients. Business-level conversational English is essential, along with clear scientific communication through slide decks, reports and presentations.
  • Motivation, a real interest in healthcare, strong organisational skills and payer-focused medical writing expertise. The team welcomes people from varied backgrounds.
  • A degree in life sciences or a related field, epidemiology, or health economics and policy; a Master's is preferred.
  • About 5 years of medical writing across several therapeutic areas, including at least 3 years in HEOR or HTA, with direct experience writing GVDs and/or benchmark HTA submissions such as NICE or G-BA dossiers, peer-reviewed publications and HEOR study reports or protocols.
  • Experience managing or coordinating GVDs and/or benchmark HTA submissions, or parts of them.
  • Familiarity with health economics and HTA processes, ideally JCA, NICE or G-BA.
  • Strong written and verbal English, and expertise in scientific writing standards.
  • Ability to produce high-quality content with minimal guidance from a senior lead.
  • Expert Microsoft Word skills and close attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, quick to learn, able to work independently with support when needed.
  • Strong time management and organisation, and flexibility in a fast-paced setting.
