Responsibilities

  • Build, test, ship and maintain full stack applications, analytics products, data solutions, APIs and visualizations.
  • Write and maintain front end, back end, database and supporting code using documented, repeatable engineering methods.
  • Run operations and sustainment tasks to keep applications reliable, available, fast and fully functional.
  • Diagnose and fix problems in applications, systems, databases and infrastructure after outages, slowdowns or performance complaints.
  • Update application code and database settings so they meet operational, reliability, availability and functional needs.
  • Carry out corrective, preventive, adaptive and perfective maintenance on existing software as the government requires.
  • Take part in Agile work, including enhancing and changing current applications and feature sets.
  • Build and support RESTful CRUD services and APIs that connect applications, data and other systems.
  • Manage C2S, AWS and Cloud Foundry environments, handling monitoring, OS and software upgrades, patches and general maintenance.
  • Carry out required software and server upgrades using NGA SWAP-approved versions and set configuration standards.
  • Handle user access requests, account setup and related access management.
  • Help with the yearly Continuity Planning and Testing, updating the NOC CP Tool and preparing the evidence documents.
  • Keep software and configuration records current in XACTA 360 and Service+ CMDB, following RMF requirements and the Enterprise Service Catalog.
  • Spot system enhancements, new capabilities, concept demonstrators and supporting business cases.
  • Create and deliver technical training as new systems and changes move into live use.
  • Guide project teams technically and communicate clearly with government stakeholders, managers and senior leaders.
  • Start, run, track and report technical tasks and deliverables on your own as the government asks.

Requirements

  • Security clearance at the Top Secret SCI level, with a polygraph preferred.
  • A bachelor's or higher degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or a closely related technical field.
  • 5+ years of software development, full stack development or both, using JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Node.js, command-line tools such as NPM and Git, and AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, EBS, ELB and related cloud tools.
  • Working knowledge of object-oriented design principles and development practices.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps practices and system administration.
  • Strong hands-on skill in software design, development, coding, testing, troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Experience building or supporting APIs and RESTful CRUD services.
  • Able to troubleshoot complex issues across applications, databases, cloud environments and supporting infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to spot system enhancements, new capabilities, concept demonstrators and potential business cases.
  • Experience providing technical support and communicating with leadership, management, customers and internal and external stakeholders.
