Flight Test Ground Station Frameworks and On-Premise Cloud Architect

Description

The role is a permanent position in the Flight Test Ground Station Department, based in Getafe near Madrid, Spain, at the company's Defence and Space unit.

The department handles ground hardware and both ground and onboard software needed for flight testing, and also runs IT systems and general software for the test centre.

The job is at the professional experience level and sits in the testing job family.

Responsibilities

• Build software applications for the ground station and test frameworks.
• Help industrialise tools that the test centre has requested.
• Design, implement and maintain frameworks and on-premise cloud solutions for clients.
• Meet with clients to learn what they need and shape custom solutions around those needs.
• Write and keep up documentation for the frameworks and on-premise cloud solutions.
• Find and fix faults in frameworks and on-premise cloud solutions.
• Work with other teams so the solutions fit cleanly into client environments.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Experience in cloud computing, including work as a cloud architect or in a similar role.
• A solid grasp of cloud architectures and design patterns.
• Proficiency with private cloud platforms built on Kubernetes.
• Experience with ArgoCD, Harbor, Nexus, Gitea, HAProxy, Prometheus, Keycloak, Velero and Iceberg, or comparable tools.
• Experience with Rook, MinIO or other object storage solutions.
• Experience running databases on Kubernetes with operators, including PostgreSQL (CloudNativePG), OpenSearch and ClickHouse.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
