Description

The company makes memory and storage products that help turn information into intelligence.

The Customer Engineering group is the main technical contact for global customers. It makes sure company solutions fit into next-generation platforms, and it runs deep engineering projects, product qualifications and architecture reviews to win designs, grow share and support customers with strong technical service.

This Associate Field Applications Engineer role supports the technical work needed to launch products. You join the field engineering team and own many end-to-end tasks, from complex sample deployments and lifecycle management to technical questions and customer contact. You take an automation-first approach, looking for ways to improve processes and use AI-based workflows in daily work.

The role can grow into a full-time FAE position for people who deliver strong results and show the right skills and behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full sample process, from configuration through international shipment tracking to final customer validation.
  • Track technical product work across several customer accounts at once.
  • Act as a contact for technical product questions from some customers and partners. Answer routine questions and escalate complex engineering issues for deeper analysis.
  • Keep technical documentation, qualification statuses and project data current in internal systems and, where needed, in customer-facing web portals.
  • Coordinate product change notices and lifecycle events so customers know about transitions and last-time-buy windows.
  • Oversee regional loaner pools of hardware samples, managing inventory levels, reservations and utilization reporting.
  • Handle technical approvals and documentation for factory-level modifications after customer qualification, in some cases.
  • Drive and track technical failure analyses and return authorizations so their status stays clear.
  • Enter and maintain customer-specific configuration rules that enforce hardware supply constraints and engineering recipes.
  • Manage custom hardware labeling and packaging requests, meeting strict compliance rules and unique customer specifications.
  • Support Field Application Engineers during active design cycles and qualifications by handling logistics and arranging technical materials.
  • Prepare technical data and status updates for quarterly customer reviews, then capture and drive the follow-up engineering actions.
  • Look for and recommend ways to automate manual workflows and improve efficiency with internal digital tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering or science, such as computer engineering, electrical engineering or computer science.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in semiconductor or a related field, such as field applications, systems or hardware test engineering. Recent graduates with relevant co-op or internship experience may also qualify.
  • General knowledge of hardware engineering workflows to support FAEs and spot operational obstacles.
  • High technical literacy, or equivalent experience, and the ability to keep up with frequent changes in technology, roadmaps and lifecycle dates.
  • Basic understanding of memory or storage technologies and related platform technologies such as CPU, GPU, NPU and PMIC, to help with product questions and configuration requests.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to coordinate between customers and internal teams such as Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain.
  • Strong analytical skills and a habit of proactively spotting process bottlenecks for automation or workflow improvement.
  • Computer systems architecture and technical competence suited to the segment and products, such as Data Center DRAM, LP, storage, automotive or mobile.
  • Problem solving.
  • Technical triage and coordination.
  • CRM system proficiency.
  • Engineering process literacy.
  • Workflow management.
  • Collaboration across multiple functions.
  • Process optimization.
  • Detail orientation.
  • Preferred: experience leading worldwide partner training, certification efforts and engineering support platforms.
  • Preferred: engineering background in hardware system repair and board-level build principles.
  • Preferred: proven handling of semiconductor supply requirements and qualification details across segments such as Data Center, AI, Mobile or Automotive.
  • Preferred: experience finding process bottlenecks and applying artificial intelligence to raise team productivity.
