Description

The company has worked in computer graphics, PC gaming and accelerated computing for over 25 years, and is now applying AI to define the next era of computing, where its GPUs act as the brains of computers, robots and self-driving cars.

The team is hiring a Field Application Engineer based in EMEA to lead technical work with key customers, helping them build strong solutions on the company's GPU, AI, networking and embedded platforms.

You will be the main technical contact between customers, the company's sales staff and its engineering teams, making sure designs are adopted, deployed and tuned well. The role suits someone who enjoys deep technical problems at the system level in real customer environments.

Responsibilities

  • Help partners integrate the company's silicon, including GPUs, ConnectX NICs, BlueField DPUs and Grace and Vera CPUs, into their system designs, and take part in schematic and PCB stack-up reviews and EVT and DVT bring-up.
  • Log, reproduce and push customer bugs to resolution in ticketing systems, working with application engineers and product teams, and passing workarounds, fixes and release dates back to the customer.
  • Guide customers through firmware and software stacks, covering NIC, GPU, BMC, BIOS, FPGA and ERoT firmware, GPU Operator, Network Operator, DOCA/OFED, DCGM, MFT tools and NVQual qualification.
  • Connect customers, the company's engineering teams in GPU, networking and platform software, third-party vendors and internal account and program managers, and handle NDA processes and NVOnline access for partner engineers.
  • Support partner Aerial integration for GPU-accelerated L1 and L2 RAN and platform deployment, working with the Aerial SDK product SA and the headquarters telco strategy team.
  • Answer technical questions from additional OEM partners on HGX, IGX and MGX reference designs, covering power, thermal management, PCIe topology, enablement documents and design proposal reviews.
  • Travel occasionally to visit partner sites on location.

Requirements

  • At least 15 years in a customer-facing technical role such as FAE, solutions architect or systems engineer, in datacenter, HPC, networking or telecom hardware.
  • An MS or PhD in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Solid Linux systems skills, including kernel modules, driver stacks, Kubernetes or OpenShift operators, container runtimes and firmware update workflows.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals: Ethernet, InfiniBand, SR-IOV, RDMA and NIC configuration. Experience with Mellanox or the company ConnectX or BlueField is a plus.
  • Understanding of GPU platforms (HGX, MGX, DGX), CUDA, GPU Operator and DCGM. Deep GPU expertise is a plus but can be built on the job.
  • Hardware skills: reading schematics, understanding PCIe topology, taking part in thermal and mechanical design reviews, and supporting board-level bring-up and debugging.
  • Ways to stand out: experience in the telecom, RAN or 5G ecosystem, including O-RAN, Aerial and AI-RAN concepts.
  • Ways to stand out: familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
  • Ways to stand out: prior experience in partner or customer support.
  • Ways to stand out: background in BMC/Redfish, IPMI or platform management firmware.

Conditions

Based in EMEA, with occasional travel to partner sites.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Details of the benefits offered for you and your family are available on the company's benefits site.
