Description

You will join the Experience Team, which includes product designers, UX researchers, technical writers, design operations specialists, design technologists and visual designers.

The team builds software that makes work smarter. Its members come from many professional and personal backgrounds.

This is a 12-week summer internship open to students across several business functions.

The team applies AI across research, from planning and synthesis through reporting. Interns see how it is used carefully and may build a reusable workflow of their own.

Interns also take part in executive speaker sessions, career development workshops, giving initiatives and team activities.

Responsibilities

  • Bring the needs of customers and their end users into the work, using research methods that run from early discovery to validating designs.
  • Help plan, run, analyze and report on research projects.
  • Share findings with your core team in artifacts such as personas, journey maps and task analyses, as needed.
  • Work closely with senior UX staff so validated research shapes product strategy and roadmaps.
  • Support formative and summative design validation through repeated usability testing.
  • Use AI-assisted workflows to speed up planning, transcript analysis and synthesis, checking every output against the source data.
  • Assess and improve AI-enabled research tools and workflows, and measure how they affect team efficiency.

Requirements

  • You have experience using AI in work processes, decisions or problem-solving, such as AI tools, workflow automation, AI-generated insights, or considering AI's effect on your field.
  • You are pursuing a Master's degree in human-computer interaction, human factors, cognitive psychology or a related field, and will graduate in May 2028 or later.
  • You can work full time for the 12 weeks of summer.
  • You bring a portfolio of your work to your interview.
  • You write probing questions that engage end users of enterprise software.
  • You have general knowledge of UI design, usability evaluation, task analysis and experimental design.
  • You have created and run online surveys and qualitative research.
  • You learn new technical concepts quickly.
  • You have working knowledge of planning, running and conducting user research and testing.
  • You have applied customer-centered research and mixed methods.
  • You are comfortable in customer-facing settings where you represent the company brand.
  • You have used or assessed AI in a job or coursework, for example through AI tools, automation or generated insights.

Conditions

The internship is full time and runs for 12 weeks over the summer.

Hiring takes place in several locations, including but not limited to Santa Clara, CA, San Diego, CA, West Palm Beach, FL and other areas.

The work location is decided by the team's growth strategy.

Work personas (flexible, remote or required in office) are assigned based on the type of work and the assigned location.

Eligibility for a persona may be checked by a third-party service that measures the distance between your primary residence and the nearest office.

Base pay for this location is $45.97 - $53.04, plus equity when applicable, variable or incentive compensation and benefits.

Sales roles generally carry an On Target Earnings incentive structure.

The base pay shown is a guideline. Total pay varies with qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location, and it is based on the geographic location and may change.
