Eurodrone Ground Support Equipment Engineer

Description

The role sits in the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) engineering department at the company Defence and Space in Getafe, near Madrid. The department is growing quickly and several junior engineers have joined over the past two years.

The main focus is the Eurodrone programme. You will also support the other combat programmes the department covers: SIRTAP, Eurofighter and FCAS (Future Combat Air System).

The department identifies, designs, develops and validates on the aircraft all the ground support equipment needed to operate and maintain aircraft in customer service. It also gives customers hands-on technical help with GSE at air bases.

GSE matters a great deal to the company, since its equipment is used daily on every aircraft and by customers worldwide.

The role belongs to the Services Organization (TAS), within the TASSE6 Ground Support Equipment team.

Responsibilities

• Write GSE technical specifications.
• Help select suppliers from a technical standpoint.
• Follow design work and prototype manufacturing.
• Validate equipment on the aircraft.
• Run qualification and compatibility tests.
• Prepare GSE recommendations for customers.
• Carry out site surveys to assess what customers already have in terms of GSE.
• Give technical assistance to customers.
• Support installation and commissioning of GSE at customer main operating bases.
• Analyse aircraft modifications and their impact on GSE already developed.

Requirements

• Fluent English and Spanish, spoken and written.
• Strong teamwork and an open mindset.
• Good verbal and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work in different environments, travel when needed and work in multinational teams.
• Creativity in generating new ideas.

Conditions

Permanent contract at the company Defence and Space SAU.

Entry level position.

Hybrid working where possible.
