Principal / Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer

The company's Defense Sector is hiring a Principal or Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer for its Weapons Integration and Mission Solutions group in Warner Robins, GA, on the Integrated Mission Solutions Software Engineering Team.

You will join an interdisciplinary engineering team that modernizes, sustains, and verifies and validates Embedded Electronic Warfare and Radar Operational Flight Programs.

The level will be Senior Principal or Principal Embedded Software Engineer, depending on the hire.

This is a full-time salaried role based on site, with on-site work required every day.

Relocation assistance may be available. Travel is 10% of the time. A Secret clearance is required to start.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and maintain embedded operational flight programs and simulation, emulation, and IV&V applications using sound development practices and standards.
• Take part in every stage of the software life cycle, from requirements and modeling through design, unit-to-CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and upkeep.
• Lead the resolution of complex technical problems.
• Work often with Program Management, external suppliers, and government customers, so strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Requirements

• Senior Principal level: a B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM discipline, plus 8 years of direct relevant experience with a B.S., 6 years with a Master's, or 4 years with a PhD.
• Principal level: a B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM discipline, plus 5 years of direct relevant experience with a B.S., 3 years with a Master's, or 1 year with a PhD.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Ada, or another object-oriented language.
• Proficiency across the formal software development lifecycle, from requirements through testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, able to work efficiently on a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• You must currently hold a U.S. Department of War (DoW) Secret clearance.

Conditions

Full-time, salaried, on-site in Warner Robins, GA, every day.

Travel of about 10% of the time.

Secret clearance required to start.

Benefits

• Primary level base salary range: $98,400.00 to $147,600.00.
• Secondary level base salary range: $122,800.00 to $184,200.00.
• The range is a general guideline. Final pay depends on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
• Depending on the position, you may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary annual bonus, which rewards individual work and shares company results.
• Vice President and Director roles may be eligible for long-term incentives.
