  • Maintain and change analysis tools written in C/C++, Python and MATLAB, running on both HPC systems and lab setups.
  • Work with systems, software, firmware and hardware team members on modeling and simulation tasks and on requirements and verification activities.
  • Support lab and test work, compare model predictions against test data, and update models when needed.
  • Prepare and present technical findings to internal teams, including at design and readiness reviews.
  • Follow coding, documentation and configuration management standards and best practices, and help improve them over time.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in optical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, math or a related field from an accredited university, plus 2 years of related experience, or a master's degree.
  • An active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance at the time you apply, current and within scope.
  • Experience with image or signal processing and with implementing algorithms in C, C++, MATLAB or Python. Internships or coursework count.
  • A basic understanding of EO/IR modeling and some exposure to validating models against hardware.
  • Knowledge of optical systems and the basics of EO/IR imaging.
  • Familiarity with running simulations on high-performance computing (HPC) systems.
  • You can work independently on assigned tasks and explain technical results to teammates.
  • Preferred: a master's degree in optical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, math or a related field.
  • Preferred: an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance at the time you apply, current and within scope.
  • Preferred: experience on a team supporting missile, hypersonic or other high-reliability systems.
  • Preferred: exposure to defense or aerospace development standards or programs.
  • Preferred: familiarity with hardware and software integration and with real-time or physics-based systems modeling.
  • Preferred: coursework or projects in C/C++, MATLAB and Python, and work in Linux environments.
