Principal Antenna Test Software Engineer

Description

The test engineering group in the Mission Systems Sector is hiring a principal software engineer for its antenna test development team.

The role centers on test software for advanced radar systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead test software teams across several projects at once.
• Design test software for phased array testing.
• Build software that automates test steps and analyzes test data.
• Turn product test requirements into software requirements.
• Write test plans and lead software integration work.
• Support production testing and lead troubleshooting.
• Work with design engineers on hardware and test changes.
• Mentor early career engineers.
• Keep cost, schedule, quality, and company policies in view at all times.

Requirements

• Basic: a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or 3+ years with a master's, or 0 years with a PhD.
• Basic: hands-on software development in languages such as MATLAB, C++, or Python.
• Basic: leadership shown through mentoring and/or leading a team.
• Basic: a current active Interim Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and keep SAP access.
• Basic: U.S. citizenship.
• Preferred: a current active Secret clearance with SAP.
• Preferred: software development work on RF and antenna systems.
• Preferred: test software work in a nearfield and/or compact antenna range.
• Preferred: RF test and/or antenna range experience.
• Preferred: familiarity with RF and antenna theory.
• Preferred: professional MATLAB development.
• Preferred: professional software architecture experience.
• Preferred: experience leading software teams through development projects.
• Preferred: experience with electrical and/or RF test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.

Conditions

An Interim Secret clearance is required before the start date.

No travel is required.

The base salary range for this level is $108,800.00 to $163,200.00. This is a general guideline; the final offer depends on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
