Description

The company's graphics software runs applications that help people design, create, and explore. The team builds workstation graphics and system software spanning graphics, APIs, and operating systems.

You will lead an engineering team that combines technical leadership with people management. The work covers enabling new GPU architectures, core driver development, and gains in performance and reliability.

You will work with engineers across hardware and software to deliver the graphics foundation used by developers and customers worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team that develops graphics drivers and enables new GPU architectures, building technical depth through mentoring, hiring, and career development.
  • Guide driver features through design, implementation, optimization, and validation, from early hardware bring-up to production release.
  • Work with GPU architecture, hardware, compiler, platform software, and quality engineering teams to define requirements, resolve dependencies, and ship robust graphics capabilities.
  • Lead the investigation and fixing of complex correctness, performance, and stability issues across the graphics software and hardware stack.
  • Set technical priorities and execution plans, balancing hardware enablement, feature work, performance, and long-term maintainability.
  • Push forward automated validation and AI-assisted development, coaching engineers to delegate tasks to coding agents and to review their output for correctness, quality, and maintainability.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience, including 3+ years of software engineering management delivering complex system software.
  • A solid grasp of computer architecture, operating system fundamentals, and how hardware and software interact.
  • Experience with graphics drivers, graphics runtimes, or GPU system software, including graphics pipelines and at least one API such as Vulkan, OpenGL, DirectX, or Metal.
  • Strong C/C++ skills and the ability to guide debugging, design and code reviews, and technical decisions in a large codebase.
  • A proven record of developing engineers, setting team priorities, and managing several projects with competing demands.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and coding agents, openness to trying new approaches, and a habit of continuous learning.
  • Clear communication and effective collaboration across geographically distributed engineering teams.
  • Nice to have: deep knowledge of driver architecture, state management, synchronization, memory management, or shader compilation.
  • Nice to have: experience enabling new GPU architectures through simulation, emulation, silicon bring-up, and production readiness.
  • Nice to have: a track record of raising graphics performance through profiling, workload analysis, and coordinated hardware and software tuning.
  • Nice to have: success leading cross-functional technical initiatives and improving the architecture, testability, or reliability of a large driver codebase.
  • Nice to have: experience with workstation graphics or Linux graphics software, such as user-mode drivers, window-system integration, or related platform components.
