Across GRC today, issue management is fragmented. Findings from control tests, audits, and risk assessments lead to remediation work spread across spreadsheets, email, and separate tools, with unclear owners, quiet deadline slips, and evidence that has to be rebuilt after the fact.
The Issue Management team is building one system of record for remediation, with a single lifecycle used across the company's GRC solutions. This role leads the engineering side: delivery pipeline health, engineer growth, and the team's quality standards. The direction is AI-assisted remediation, where issues are triaged, routed, and tracked to closure, and every action, decision, and piece of evidence can be traced and defended to auditors and regulators.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of engineers, assigning roles and tasks against team goals and each person's growth areas.
Own the delivery schedule and raise schedule risk with group leadership early.
Shape the issue management lifecycle and the shared patterns that keep it consistent across all GRC solutions, working with the Product Manager and UX Lead.
Drive the core capabilities: issue and action plan management, workflows and approvals, notifications and escalation, evidence capture, and the public APIs that other solutions and customers build on.
Build and maintain the audit trail, history, and evidence infrastructure so remediation status can be trusted and defended to auditors.
Set and carry out the product quality strategy with group leaders and individual contributors.
Apply the company's values, product development standards, and agile practices across your squad or squads.
Assess and document each engineer's performance accurately, rewarding real contribution and growth over output volume.
Hold regular one-on-ones that build trust and bring out what is really happening, beyond status updates.
Coach engineers on career development, technical growth, and blockers, including difficult conversations when performance must improve.
Keep team health strong by building an engaged, positive environment and dealing with conflict directly.
Deliberately plan growth for each report by finding opportunities that fit where they want to go.
Take an active part in recruiting, selecting, and onboarding new team members.
Act as the engineering voice with the Product Manager and UX Lead, setting domain direction together.
Define clear integration contracts early wherever upstream solutions connect to the issue management solution.
Present your team's resourcing needs and priorities to group leadership with clear tradeoffs, not only requests.
Work with group leaders to define and plan team and group objectives.
Spot technical risk early and explain it to leadership before it turns into a crisis.
Build AI-assisted workflows while keeping full manual paths for practitioners who need them.
Make sure every AI-generated output can be explained, audited, and traced to its source data, with a person accountable for each decision.
Meet the trust standard that high-stakes GRC audiences need, including boards, audit committees, and regulators, for AI-generated content.
Judge your team's output by judgment and outcomes rather than shipped volume, separating real skill growth from AI-assisted work that only looks productive.
Keep code review and quality gates strong enough for AI-generated code, catching invented logic, subtle errors, and security gaps before release.
Coach engineers to use AI effectively while still being able to work and reason without it.
