Description

The team builds internal tools for the operations groups, with a product focus. Its aim is to help each operations staff member serve more high-volume business clients by pulling data together, streamlining workflows and automating slow manual work.

The first stage relies on Salesforce to deliver results quickly, with custom internal tools built later.

As Engineering Lead, you own the technical architecture and coding standards and make sure the roadmap's technical work ships. Examples include proactive alerting, automated data population and assignment tooling. You will also hire and manage the team's engineers and work with product, design and analytics colleagues.

The company is a global technology firm that moves and manages money for individuals and businesses, covering cross-border transfers, spending abroad and international payments.

Responsibilities

  • Decide the technical approach for the tools, weighing quick wins against long-term investments.
  • Write code yourself, as this role is hands-on.
  • Help shape product definition and the team's roadmap.
  • Lead and mentor individual contributor engineers, keep code quality high and drive projects to completion.
  • Partner with design, product and analytics to design and connect the tools.

Requirements

  • Experience leading and mentoring software engineers, and a genuine interest in helping them grow.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience leading one or more teams and working across functions.
  • Backend engineering and system architecture experience, with a record of delivering scalable systems, ideally in quick-moving settings or on internal tooling.
  • Experience designing complex systems.
  • Experience working with databases.
  • Experience designing APIs.
  • Experience with asynchronous messaging.
  • Good at resolving conflict and solving problems.
  • Working knowledge of JVM languages, such as Java or Kotlin.
  • Nice to have: a financial background. It is a plus but not required.

Conditions

Starting salary of €6,666 to €8,333 gross per month.

Hybrid working model.

The company values diverse, equitable and inclusive teams and welcomes applicants from every background.

Benefits

  • Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) on top of the starting salary.
  • Access to the company's benefits package.
