The role can be based in Rancho Bernardo, CA or Palmdale, CA.

The hire may be placed at level 2 or level 3, based on your qualifications.

The opportunity depends on program funding, and start dates are set once funding is confirmed.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, test and evaluate systems.
  • Run trade studies, technical analyses and reports, and write change proposals and other technical documents.

  • Resolve interface and functionality problems between SW components and hardware (HW).
  • Work with the SW and infrastructure teams to correct or improve capabilities.
  • Write subsystem requirements and SRS/HRS specifications using MBSE tools and DOORS.
  • Design architectures for complex HW and SW systems, covering requirements traceability and implementation assessment.
  • Turn high-level needs into a structured, logical set of integrated requirements that leads to a fielded product.
  • Help develop and review interface control documents (ICDs), requirements, the Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM), architecture documents and systems engineering estimates, and lead or take part in formal and informal engineering reviews.

Requirements

  • Level 3: a bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 5 years of related engineering experience, or a master's degree in a STEM field and 3 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in a STEM field and 1 year of related engineering experience.
  • For both levels: you must be able to obtain, transfer and maintain the final U.S. government Secret clearance and any program access required for the role within a timeframe the company considers reasonable.
  • For both levels: you must be able to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) before you start, within a timeframe the company sets to meet its needs.

  • Preferred: experience with SW test automation tools or frameworks.
  • Preferred: experience with Java, C++ or Python.
  • Preferred: experience working in an Agile development environment.
