Description

This director role covers organic social and influencer marketing for the company, shaping how the brand appears in social feeds, in wider culture and in online conversation.

The company is a well-known luxury health, wellness and hospitality brand with premium, design-led clubs, and it is looking to refine its next phase in fitness.

The goal is to create ideas that draw attention and get people talking, rather than reacting to trends or simply adding more content.

The role sits between brand, culture, creators, commerce and technology, and requires setting direction while staying hands-on enough to judge when an idea is strong, needs work, or should move quickly.

Other duties not listed here may be assigned as needed for the department to run properly.

Responsibilities

  • Own organic social: define strategy, the editorial calendar, platform roles, posting cadence and content mix across Instagram, TikTok and new channels.
  • Turn the company's brand positioning and campaigns into social-first ideas that suit each platform, balancing planned storytelling, always-on posting and timely cultural moments.
  • Grow influencer work into a real growth channel: lead creator strategy across brand storytelling, member acquisition and commerce, build the right creator mix, shape briefs and partnerships, and run programs that deliver cultural relevance and measurable revenue. Experience with affiliate and creator-commerce platforms such as ShopMy is highly preferred.
  • Direct agencies and creative output: write clear briefs and expectations for social, influencer and content partners, and bring a strong creative eye to concepts, casting, copy, photography, video and creator content until the work is distinctive, current and clearly on-brand.
  • Generate original formats, ideas and moments that can start conversations on their own, rather than only following what is already trending.
  • Hire, coach and grow a high-performing social and influencer team, with clear ownership, dependable operating routines, and a balance of creative ambition, accountability and speed.
  • Build the tools, workflows and systems that make the team faster and sharper, covering social listening, publishing, reporting, creator management, automation and AI, and use them to understand culture, find opportunities, make content, measure results and scale what works.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in organic social, influencer marketing, content, or culturally driven consumer marketing.
  • Deep fluency in Instagram and TikTok, and a clear understanding of how content, tone, talent and behavior vary between platforms.
  • Significant experience building creator and influencer programs that deliver brand impact and commercial results, including affiliate or creator-commerce programs.
  • Strong experience leading social agencies, creators, production partners and in-house creative teams.
  • Proven record of hiring, managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Comfortable working with social technology, automation, AI, social listening, analytics and new tools.
  • Preferred: experience with premium, luxury or culturally influential consumer brands, such as fitness, fashion, beauty, hospitality, travel, entertainment or wellness.
  • Closely tuned to what is trending and culturally relevant, and motivated to create the ideas and moments people want to discuss.
  • Strong creative judgment and taste, with the ability to tell apart content that is merely social from content people will truly care about.
  • A plus: existing familiarity with the company's member experience.
