Responsibilities

  • Set the product strategy and roadmap for the EVR platform, turning clinical, customer, market and business needs into differentiated product concepts and recommendations that shape portfolio priorities and investment decisions.
  • Own upstream product management for new products, covering market research, Voice of Customer work, opportunity assessment, concept generation and product definition. Start business development efforts when needed to advance the product and its accessories.
  • Support the move into commercialization and downstream marketing, and pursue business development that the product needs.
  • Define and rank product requirements, turning clinical and customer needs into clear requirements, features and value propositions, and recommend development priorities.
  • Lead the Product Management side of cross-functional development teams spanning R&D, systems, electrical and mechanical engineering, software and firmware, Clinical Affairs, Quality & Regulatory, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Commercial, so that the product strategy gets delivered.
  • Act as the hands-on Product Management lead for your assigned domain, such as hardware, electrical or firmware. Work with engineering on product definition, requirements, technical trade-offs and customer value.
  • Talk with physicians, customers and commercial stakeholders throughout development to confirm needs, concepts, workflows and solutions, and feed what you learn into product recommendations.
  • Lead and grow a Product Management team by setting priorities and accountabilities, coaching members, allocating resources and building upstream Product Management capability across EVR.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in product management, new product development, engineering, strategic marketing or a related function, with significant medical device experience.
  • Proven experience leading upstream product management and new product development for complex medical devices.
  • Strong record of turning clinical, customer and market needs into product concepts, requirements, roadmaps and development recommendations.
  • Experience with complex electro-mechanical systems that combine hardware, firmware and software.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior technical, clinical, commercial and business stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
  • Working knowledge of the medical device development lifecycle and experience working in a regulated product development environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical problem solving, business acumen and customer focus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex technical and clinical topics clearly and persuasively.
  • Proven experience coaching, developing or leading Product Management talent.
  • Experience in neurointerventional procedures, interventional medical devices, complex capital equipment or robotics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the interventional neurology and neurovascular clinical environment is a plus.
  • Experience engaging physicians and customers directly through Voice of Customer work, workflow research, concept evaluation and clinical or user validation is a plus.
