Description

The company Austria is one of the largest audit and consulting firms in the country, with about 1,500 people across 6 locations.

The team is looking for an IT business analyst with 5+ years on Digital Lending Transformation projects at major European banks or financial institutions. The role sits at the centre of a delivery-led service offer for SME lending origination.

The focus is domain depth. You bridge business needs and IT solutions, understand how SME lending origination works in practice, and turn regulatory and business requirements into concrete design. Beyond delivery, you help write the offer's reusable assets and support business development. Pre-sales work supports the offer lead rather than being owned by you.

You work closely with business stakeholders, developers, testers and project managers to make sure solutions meet business goals and regulatory requirements.

Role level: Senior Associate. Technology Strategy specialism within Advisory.

Responsibilities

  • Own the SME origination domain as the go-to reference across application intake, KYC and onboarding, creditworthiness assessment, underwriting, decisioning, offer, disbursement and monitoring.
  • Assess how regulatory change, such as the EBA Loan Origination & Monitoring guidelines, affects lending systems, and convert the obligations into testable requirements, controls and target-state processes.
  • With the offer lead, build the reusable assets: capability reference model, vendor-selection framework (scoring, RFI/RFP, TCO), integration reference architecture and governance and migration playbook.
  • Assess origination platforms against the capability reference model and lead structured fit-gap analysis.
  • Add domain credibility to pitches, proposals and client workshops, supporting the offer lead.
  • Gather, analyse and document functional and technical requirements for lending products and processes.
  • Turn business needs into clear documentation: Business Requirement Documents, user stories and use cases.
  • Work with development teams so the technical build matches business goals.
  • Support functional testing and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Track project progress, spot issues and help resolve them.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as an IT business analyst on Digital Lending Transformation projects.
  • Track record delivering complex IT projects in financial services (traditional banks, digital banks or fintech), ideally including a delivered SME or commercial lending origination transformation.
  • Fluent in EBA LOM: able to turn the guidelines into requirements and controls.
  • Working knowledge of creditworthiness and affordability assessment in origination, enough to work with risk teams. Experience with automated decisioning tools, such as credit decision engines, is valued.
  • Experience with process modelling tools and methods such as BPMN and UML.
  • Experience with project and ticketing tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Working experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • Comfortable with complex IT architectures, with understanding of integration and data: APIs, core-banking touchpoints and data flows for decisioning.
  • Familiarity with the landscape of origination platform providers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to give structure to unclear problems and build from a blank page.
  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills, credible with senior client stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive, with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Candidates who do not meet every listed requirement are still encouraged to apply.
  • Skills listed include analytical reasoning, communication, documentation development, business transformation and business data analytics, among others (16 more are listed on the posting).
