Devops Services Engineer

Description

The company is a luxury group that owns several Houses making jewelry, watches and high-end accessories. Each House keeps its own style, quality and craftsmanship heritage, while the group keeps designing new products that fit those values.

This role sits in the DevOps Services team and focuses on delivering and onboarding Cloud and DevOps services for internal customers.

The work centres on GCP and AWS application environments, with enough cross-cloud knowledge to handle services that depend on more than one cloud. You will help build and run modern application platforms using Kubernetes, GitLab, ArgoCD, Terraform, Vault, Python and CI/CD automation.

Responsibilities

• Talk with stakeholders to learn their technical needs, limits and delivery timelines, then turn them into workable Cloud and DevOps service builds.
• Roll out and onboard approved services, packaged solutions and platform capabilities, mainly on AWS and GCP and with a focus on Kubernetes delivery.
• Set up, connect and check service components with GitLab, ArgoCD, Kubernetes, Terraform, Vault and cloud-native services.
• Spot chances to automate and help build repeatable delivery patterns, pipelines and service upgrades.
• Push for standard, automated and reusable patterns so every service is delivered consistently, securely and openly.
• Work with the DevOps Service Enablement, Service Offering and Cloud and DevOps teams so delivery follows architecture, governance, cost and security rules.
• Help application teams through onboarding, early use and handover so they can consume the service smoothly.
• Help set up, test and validate environments for applications and platforms such as data processing, integration, workflow orchestration and cloud-native services.
• Apply DevOps practices to deployment, configuration, automation, observability, security and operational readiness.
• Act on your own initiative to find technical gaps, risks, dependencies and improvements.
• Give feedback that improves services, documentation, automation and packaged service quality.
• Keep current with Cloud and DevOps tools and practices, particularly AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, GitOps, CI/CD, automation and scripting in Python or Bash.

Requirements

• At least 5 years in cloud environments, DevOps engineering, automation, application delivery or a similar technical role.
• Proven record of delivering or supporting applications and services in cloud and containerized environments.
• Solid experience with GCP and AWS application environments. Knowledge of Alicloud is a strong plus.
• Experience working directly with development, product and other cross-functional technology teams.
• Experience with technical onboarding, service delivery, troubleshooting, automation and continuous improvement.
• A service-minded approach, with clear communication and good follow-through.
• Strong technical knowledge across Cloud and DevOps, enough to deliver services, support onboarding, spot technical gaps and work well with expert teams. This covers:
• Core GCP services and application environment concepts.
• Multi-cloud understanding for delivering applications and services across clouds, especially AWS.
• Kubernetes, containers and modern application deployment concepts.
• Modern GitOps delivery, continuous deployment with Argo CD and GitLab pipeline automation.
• Infrastructure as code principles and tools such as Terraform.
• Strong scripting skills, for example in Python and Bash.
• Security practices and tools for secrets, such as HashiCorp Vault or cloud-native secret management.
• Cloud networking, IAM, security, cost control and architecture guardrails.
• Self-service models and centralized internal developer portal catalogs.
