Responsibilities

  • Keep WAN links running across classified and unclassified networks, including connections to DISN, NIPRNet, SIPRNet and other DoD networks.
  • Set up and troubleshoot advanced routing and switching, such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, multicast, QoS and IPv4/IPv6.
  • Run and fix Cisco platforms and Check Point firewalls.
  • Carry out equipment refreshes, replacements and infrastructure modernization.
  • Handle Tier III and Tier IV troubleshooting, find root causes and restore network services.
  • Be available for 24x7x365 on-call engineering when needed.
  • Survey sites, assess infrastructure, and plan and carry out installations.
  • Help provision, test, activate and troubleshoot DISA circuits.
  • Write engineering change requests, implementation and test plans, rollback procedures and network diagrams.
  • Make sure network devices meet DISA STIGs, agency configuration standards and cybersecurity rules.
  • Review network capacity, utilization and performance, and recommend reliability improvements.
  • Help connect the network to enterprise cloud services, application delivery and secure integration.
  • Run lab tests, evaluate technologies and validate interoperability.
  • Give technical help to government and contractor WAN management, NOC staff and other engineering teams.
  • Travel to CONUS or OCONUS sites as needed to install or troubleshoot networks.

Requirements

  • Five years of progressive IT experience, including at least two projects in Network and Telecommunications Services and Network Management, with at least one of those completed within the previous three years.
  • High school diploma.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • A DoD Top Secret clearance, or a Secret clearance with a favorably adjudicated Tier 5/SSBI investigation.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III baseline certification.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise (CCNP-E).
  • Preferred: Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or higher. If you do not hold it before hire, you must obtain it after hire.
  • Preferred: AWS Cloud Practitioner.
  • Preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals.
  • Preferred: CompTIA Cloud+.

Conditions

You must work onsite every day in Pearl Harbor, HI.

Travel of up to about 40% may be required, both CONUS and OCONUS, for installation or troubleshooting.

The projected salary is $140,000+ per year. Final pay depends on years of relevant experience, active security clearance level, certifications, technical skillset, contract requirements and overall qualifications.

You will spend extended periods working at a computer, and work in offices, comm closets, warehouses and other network deployment and sustainment settings.

Benefits

  • 26 days of paid leave covering vacation, sick time, personal time and holidays, used however you choose.
  • Performance bonuses based on individual contributions and company-wide results.
  • 401(k) with a 3% company match, vesting immediately.

  • Medical plans, dental, vision, FSA and HSA options.
  • 15 days of fully paid parental leave for new parents.
