Description

You will join the AV Systems, Sensing and Integration team, which builds assisted and automated driving features for vehicles.

The team takes a feature from early requirements and architecture through vehicle integration, calibration, validation and global launch, and combines sensor hardware, perception, software and vehicle systems engineering.

The company is hiring across several engineering and technical disciplines, including systems engineering, technology development, system integration, and automation and simulation development.

Responsibilities

  • Define use cases, feature and sensing system requirements, safety goals, performance metrics and system interactions.
  • Support system architecture work, including interface definitions and functional modeling.
  • Work with platform and software teams to integrate hardware and software subsystems.
  • Write acceptance test plans that confirm open loop sensor performance.
  • Build dashboards and carry out data mining and analytics.
  • Write scripts that automate testing in the vehicle and on benches.
  • Bring up functions and integrate systems on development vehicles.
  • Assess how compute platforms, ECUs, sensors and actuators interact.
  • Run feature, sensor-level and vehicle-level tests.
  • Help develop calibrations, in the vehicle and on the bench, that meet performance and regulatory requirements.
  • Run performance and validation tests using simulation, bench HIL and SIL setups, and on-road fleets.
  • Record test results, consolidate findings and support root-cause investigations.
  • Work with designers to place advanced sensors on prototype vehicles.
  • Write build documentation and instructions for prototype builds.
  • Use advanced prototyping technologies to move designs into vehicle builds quickly.
  • Prepare prototype parts, tools, fixtures, harnesses and work areas, and help set repeatable installation methods that improve build efficiency, quality and safety.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software interface problems across mechanical, electrical, controls and systems areas.
  • Use simulation, modeling and playback to reproduce field issues and speed up development.
  • Analyze system and sensor data to improve performance, robustness and validation efficiency.
  • Help build datasets, scenario libraries and automated test pipelines for HIL and SIL.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in hardware and system design, automated testing, simulation, embedded systems or related fields.
  • A hands-on approach: you like building, testing, debugging and learning by doing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain findings clearly.
  • Ability to work well in a team and manage several tasks toward a deliverable.
  • Required Qualifications: pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer engineering or an equivalent field such as electrical, computer, mechatronics, system design, mechanical or chemical engineering.
  • Required Qualifications: graduating between December 2027 and August 2028.
  • Required Qualifications: coursework or project experience in Python, MATLAB or embedded microcontrollers.
  • Preferred Qualifications: basic understanding of automotive control systems, ADAS features, sensors or electronics.
  • Preferred Qualifications: familiarity with model-based design tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and communication protocols such as CAN, LIN and Ethernet.
  • Preferred Qualifications: proficiency in scripting languages such as Python.
  • Preferred Qualifications: intent to return to your degree program after the internship.
