DevOps Engineer

Description

The company is hiring a DevOps Engineer to run and maintain its server, network and cloud environments.

In daily work you report to the company's Managing Director, as set out in the approved organisation chart.

You will work closely with relevant people both inside and outside the company.

Responsibilities

• Configure and run computer operating systems.
• Set up Windows and Linux systems, including installation and configuration.
• Create and check data backups.
• Apply system updates to add functionality and fix security issues.
• Run infrastructure such as firewalls, XDR and antivirus tools.
• Monitor operating system performance and availability.
• Support and maintain file servers and DNS.
• Set up and manage VMware platforms.
• Configure the platform for MS SQL Servers.
• Work with AWS services.
• Set up and manage Active Directory and Windows-based environments.
• Keep user documentation up to date.
• Keep your manager informed about your work so performance expectations are met.
• Update your direct manager regularly on ongoing tasks and projects.
• Send timely progress reports and ask for mentorship when you need it.
• Join team huddles, meetings and ad hoc meetings when needed.
• Take on other duties your supervisors or management assign to help the department meet its goals.

Requirements

• Deep experience administering Windows and Linux servers.
• Knowledge of configuring and maintaining VMware platforms.
• Experience with infrastructure for MS SQL Servers.
• Deep experience with one of AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Thorough understanding of server, network and application security.
• Experience configuring and managing directory services and Windows operating system environments.
• Experience with firewalls and networking.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Conditions

Your role includes taking part in an on-call schedule.
