Linux Systems Engineer (Top Secret/SCI with agreement to obtain CI Poly Clearance Required)

Description

The company is hiring a senior Linux systems engineer to support an identity and access management (ICAM) system that runs in a classified environment and is critical to customer operations.

You will bring deep Linux experience alongside cloud infrastructure skills to provide lifecycle engineering support across development and operations.

The role requires an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. You must be willing to obtain a polygraph within the customer's timeline.

Responsibilities

• You will provide Tier II support for customer-facing operational problems, finding root causes, applying fixes, and reporting findings back to the development team.
• You will act as a subject matter expert, tracking user metrics, system health, and performance, and putting proactive measures in place to keep the system available.
• You will write scripts and build playbook-based automation for operational tasks.
• You will manage COTS and GOTS software across several environments.
• You will work with Enterprise Services to keep systems compliant with security policy.
• You will communicate with customers and outside technical teams to diagnose and clear access problems, and use systems analysis to find workflow bottlenecks.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• CompTIA Security+ certification, current and completed before your start date.
• An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Willingness and ability to obtain a polygraph within the customer's required timeline.
• Experience with Linux systems administration and infrastructure management best practices.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services, including S3, EC2, and Reserved Instances.
• Network troubleshooting across OSI layers 4 to 7.
• Experience writing systems engineering documentation, such as network and data flow diagrams.
• Experience with Agile collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket.
• Experience managing COTS and GOTS software products across multiple environments.
• Preferred: experience with identity federation, single sign-on, and authorization technologies such as SAML, OIDC, OAuth, Kerberos, and CAC/smart cards.
• Preferred: experience with Oracle COTS products, including Oracle Access Manager, Oracle Unified Directory, and Oracle WebLogic.
• Preferred: experience with Kubernetes.
• Preferred: scripting in Bash and Python.
• Preferred: experience with LDAP directory services.
• Preferred: experience with the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
• Preferred: experience with cloud architectures beyond AWS.
• Preferred: experience with cross-domain architectures.
• Preferred: experience with automated testing and monitoring.
• Preferred: experience with Engineering Review Boards and Change Management processes.
