Cloud Platform Engineer

Description

You'll join the Platform team as a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, working on the technical foundation the company runs on.

The company runs a platform that connects researchers and companies with a global pool of participants to collect ethically sourced human behavioural data and feedback, which is used to build more accurate and aligned AI systems.

The team works across a multi-cloud setup and supports other internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Keep the infrastructure scalable, reliable and ready for growth, and automate away complexity.
• Manage and tune the Kubernetes clusters in GKE using Terraform.
• Help keep cloud environments in line with SOC2, ISO-27001 and Cyber Essentials.
• Design and build golden paths and automation so developers can self-serve with less operational overhead.
• Build and maintain infrastructure that lets teams ship changes safely, quickly and efficiently.
• Act as the main technical contact for GCP and Kubernetes questions from other internal teams.
• Promote best practices and act as a trusted technical expert for teams across the company.

Requirements

• Experience running and tuning large Kubernetes clusters.
• Hands-on use of Kubernetes tooling such as Helm and kustomize.
• Experience with GitOps tools and approaches, such as ArgoCD.
• A proven track record with Google Cloud Platform services and architecture.
• Working knowledge of GKE and Kubernetes, including keeping production clusters running well and optimised.
• Practical experience using Terraform to provision and automate infrastructure.
• Solid programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or both.
• Experience writing developer documentation and building self-service tools so teams can help themselves.
• A real focus on customer needs, with an emphasis on supporting internal teams.
