DevOps Engineer

Description

The company needs a DevOps Engineer with deep experience in Apache Kafka and messaging systems to help build and improve its infrastructure and join the team.

You will work across cloud and on-premises environments, keeping systems reliable, fast and stable.

The role suits someone who likes hands-on engineering, owns difficult technical problems, and can spot improvements without being told and then deliver them.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, set up and run Kafka clusters and messaging infrastructure
• Run and upgrade existing DevOps infrastructure in both cloud and on-premises settings
• Find weak points and bottlenecks in the current setup and fix them
• Keep infrastructure and messaging services highly available, reliable and fast
• Automate provisioning, configuration and daily operations with Terraform and Kubernetes
• Build and maintain monitoring and alerting
• Work with development teams on Kafka topic design, schema management and connectors
• Design and maintain backup, replication and disaster recovery for streaming systems
• Handle production problems and incidents, and make the system more stable

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional work as a DevOps, SRE or Platform Engineer
• Strong hands-on experience running Apache Kafka and brokers such as RabbitMQ or RocketMQ in production
• A thorough grasp of event-driven, modular monolith and microservices architectures
• Experience running stateful workloads on Kubernetes
• Hands-on work with Terraform
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana
• Strong Linux administration, including performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals
• Experience with cloud, on-premises infrastructure, or both
• English at B1 level or higher
• Plus: experience with Schema Registry, Kafka Connect or CDC through Debezium
• Plus: experience with Kubernetes Operators such as Strimzi
• Plus: experience with Helm
• Plus: experience with Amazon MSK
• Plus: experience with low-latency or high-throughput systems
• Plus: experience with data pipelines using ClickHouse, HDFS or Spark
• Plus: experience in trading, fintech or market-data settings
