Description

The company is a Fortune 500 infrastructure consultancy with over 50,000 staff and $16.1 billion in fiscal 2025 revenue. Its data center group has teams across the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia, serving global clients.

You will help run colocation and hyperscale data center projects from early site due diligence and campus planning through design, construction documents and construction administration.

You will start by supporting the design and project managers, then take on more independent ownership and can become the backup Design Manager.

The ideal candidate has supported project and design managers on data center work within an A/E environment.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role on high-profile projects for global clients, with room to move up.

Responsibilities

  • Help the Design Manager coordinate daily work across disciplines.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and minutes, moving toward owning them yourself.
  • Take accurate technical notes in multidisciplinary meetings and check them with discipline leads.
  • Join client and stakeholder meetings and log decisions, risks and action items.
  • Help track, manage and share project changes with internal teams and outside parties.
  • Build up to covering for the Design Manager when needed.
  • Set up internal and external design meetings on Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet or whichever platform a client uses.
  • Chase action items with internal teams so they are resolved on time.
  • Send client communications and internal updates to keep everyone aligned.
  • Keep project records current, including RFIs, submittals, drawing revisions and tracking logs.
  • Update spreadsheets, dashboards, trackers and internal and external reporting tools.
  • Help with specification edits, data entry and updates in internal reporting systems.
  • Design new tracking methods and suggest process improvements.
  • Keep project files accurate and accessible across SharePoint, MS Teams, Google Drive and Box.
  • Make sure QA and QC sets, daily prints and deliverables are prepared and stored correctly.
  • Help assemble final deliverables before submission.
  • Support Design and Project Managers with technical and financial proposals for new projects and for add, move or change work on data center projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum: a bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalent experience and/or education.
  • Minimum: at least 2 years working at A/E firms.
  • Preferred: a bachelor's degree in architecture, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
  • Preferred: a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or an Architecture license.
  • Preferred: 4 years of relevant experience in design and/or project management.
  • Preferred: 1 year in colocation and/or hyperscale data center design management or engineering.
  • Preferred: excellent written and oral communication and organization skills.
  • Preferred: ability to work in dynamic, time-sensitive situations.
