Description

The company is a health tech business within the company Group. It builds software that transforms clinical trials for patients worldwide.

Its digital health products are science-based and evidence-led, and combine scientific expertise with modern software engineering and AI.

You will sit in the product and technology organisation, reporting to the Delivery Director and working with Product, Design and Engineering leaders on ambiguous, high-stakes technical work.

This is a hands-on, technically fluent delivery role. It is not a coordination job or a status reporting role.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of the most critical and complex products and initiatives, at high quality, in highly regulated environments.
  • Turn large cross-team initiatives into a coherent technical plan, understanding architecture, services, integrations and data flows well enough to sequence the work.
  • Identify, map and actively resolve dependencies across engineering teams, platforms and external partners, including blockers nobody has reported yet.
  • Take part in architecture and design discussions, and challenge estimates, sequencing and trade-offs.
  • Spot integration, environment and release risks early, such as APIs, shared services, data migrations and CI/CD constraints, and organise the technical work needed to reduce them.
  • Explain engineering realities and risks to leadership in product and business terms so they can decide with accurate information.
  • Set governance cadences, metrics and the right customer attendees, and keep integrated delivery plans grounded in the real technical work.
  • Manage resources and plans, accountable to the Delivery Director and Head of Delivery Excellence, and ensure compliance with SOPs and policies.
  • Use AI tools daily to draft status summaries, analyse delivery and engineering data, write customer messages and spot patterns. Build AI-assisted practices across your team, and check AI output for accuracy before it goes out.
  • Maintain a single view of the portfolio, track budgets and flag variances, and use delivery metrics to measure maturity and value.
  • Align Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Design Leads and Customer Implementation Leads on what done means, and negotiate conflicting needs between development and customer implementation.
  • Lead retrospectives, drive systemic improvements, and hold people to outcomes rather than activity.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in programme or delivery management, with a record of delivering complex, multi-team software.
  • Experience leading multi-functional programmes in a technology or digital product organisation, ideally in regulated environments with products live in production.
  • Technical depth to read and reason about software architecture, APIs, integrations, data flows, environments and CI/CD pipelines, and to hold your own with senior engineers.
  • Hands-on background in software engineering, DevOps or a comparable technical team.
  • Proven ability to create structure where none exists and drive outcomes without relying on formal authority.
  • Daily, hands-on use of AI tools such as Claude, Copilot or GPT, and the ability to describe concretely how they have changed your work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the judgment to know when to raise an issue and when to solve it.
  • Experience managing matrixed teams and working across countries.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a technical or engineering field. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Desired: experience in digital health, life sciences or other highly regulated technology.
  • Desired: familiarity with GxP, ICH GCP, FDA 21 CFR, GDPR or similar standards in a delivery context.
  • Desired: global delivery experience across geographies and time zones.
  • Desired: experience building or improving delivery management practices from scratch.
  • Desired: pharmaceutical industry or clinical trial platform experience.
  • Desired: prior experience as a software engineer, technical lead, solutions architect or in a comparable hands-on technical role.
  • Desired: experience managing delivery financials, including budgets, forecasts and resourcing models.
  • In interviews, be ready to walk through real initiatives you have led, how you handled technical detail and dependencies, how you used data and AI, and how you handled difficult multi-functional situations.
