Description

The company builds AI systems that let robots adapt, learn, and work in real-world settings, aiming to close the skilled labor gap across industries. The work combines perception, reasoning, and control, and the AI is designed to be risk-aware, reliable, and to improve through use in the field.

You will help design the data platform, helping the machine learning and robotics teams iterate faster, run experiments more effectively, and move AI into production.

You will report to the Data Engineering Manager and work alongside data, machine learning, and software engineers to deliver clean, reliable, scalable data products used for experiments, production models, and AI development.

Responsibilities

  • Work with software, ML, robotics, and analytics teams to learn what data they need, then build well-modeled tables and data products from it.
  • Build and extend data models and pipelines that support experiments, model training and validation, reporting, and business decisions.
  • Model large-scale, multi-modal data, including sensor streams, application telemetry, system logs, and unstructured blob data, and find ways it can support the company's mission.
  • Watch pipeline health and data quality, troubleshoot failures, and add tests and alerts so people can trust the data.
  • Apply and strengthen the team's standards for governance, lineage, documentation, and data contracts.
  • Write clean, tested, well-documented Python and SQL, and take part in team code reviews.
  • Improve the platform's usability, performance, and tooling, and promote those improvements to users.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in data engineering or a closely related role, building and supporting production data pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Snowflake, Dagster, dbt, or a similar modern data stack.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing concepts, and pipeline orchestration.
  • You are curious about the problems your data solves and enjoy working directly with stakeholders to deliver data that supports real decisions.
  • You take ownership of your work, communicate clearly, and want to learn from and contribute to an experienced team.
  • Nice to have: experience with sensor data, robotics logs, manipulation data, or other high-volume, real-world datasets.

Conditions

Regulatory and compliance requirements apply to this role.

Benefits

  • Free lunch every day.
  • Flexible PTO.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 6 weeks of fully paid parental leave, plus an additional 6 to 8 weeks for birthing parents (12 to 14 weeks in total).
  • 401(k) retirement plan through Empower.
  • Employee referral bonuses.
