Consultant, Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain and support ETL, data warehousing and enterprise data-integration workflows across relational databases, file systems and service interfaces.
• Build these workflows in Ab Initio, SQL, PL/SQL and Unix shell scripting on Teradata, Oracle and DB2, including mappings, metadata-driven transformation logic and tuning for high-volume data.
• Test data warehouse pipelines, analytics workloads and application systems, both automated and manual, using Jira and HP Quality Center. Write test scripts, plans and cases, keep traceability, support regression and check migration readiness.
• Take part across the full SDLC: requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment coordination, issue tracking, defect management, sprint planning and release coordination in Jira.
• Provide production support after go-live.
• Shape physical and logical data models and SQL and PL/SQL processing logic for reporting, query speed, data consistency, dimensional modeling and schema design at scale.
• Create and run Unix shell scripts that automate jobs, orchestrate them, move files and manage environments.
• Build, schedule and monitor enterprise data jobs in Control-M and Autosys, and handle production moves, root-cause analysis and ETL tuning.
• Use C, XML and related technologies, including HTML, for structured data, file-based interfaces and ETL work across mixed source and target systems.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering plus 3 years of experience doing the duties above.
• Or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering plus 5 years of experience doing the duties above.

Conditions

This is an exempt role and is not eligible for overtime.

The listed duties cover the main functions of the job, but people in the role may perform a somewhat different mix of duties depending on circumstances.

The national salary range is $118,000.00-$222,000.00. The expected starting salary range is $118,000.00-$178,000.00.

Starting pay within the range depends on skills, education, training, credentials, experience, the scope, complexity and location of the role, local labor costs and other employment conditions.

For sales jobs, performance-based sales incentives may be paid on top of the range.

The ranges show full-time pay, so actual pay for part-time work may be prorated by hours worked.
