Description

The Markets Technology XVA group is hiring a Senior Vice President (SVP) to lead technology for XVA and AI enablement.

You will set the target architecture for the cross-asset XVA valuation, risk and stress testing platforms, covering CVA, DVA, FVA, MVA and KVA.

The work modernizes high-volume pricing and risk calculation pipelines using distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, OpenShift), microservices and AI/LLM-based engineering tools.

You will connect quantitative computing with enterprise application design, bring agentic AI, multi-agent systems and MLOps into the software lifecycle, and move legacy systems to real-time valuation frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the multi-year architecture for the global XVA platform so it is modular, horizontally scalable, fault tolerant and very low latency.
  • Design high-throughput distributed caching, Apache Kafka messaging and polyglot persistence (MongoDB, relational and vector stores) that can handle large intra-day risk simulations.
  • Make the final technical calls on frameworks, API contracts, component boundaries and cloud-native migration on AWS, GCP and Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Stay hands-on in Java / Spring Boot and Python, and set standards for engineering quality, clean design patterns and automated CI/CD.
  • Build and deploy autonomous and semi-autonomous agentic AI systems for pricing workflows, trade lifecycle reconciliation and stress test scenario generation.
  • Roll out AI across engineering pods, including LLM coding assistants, automated test generation, semantic code search and architecture review agents, with the aim of doubling engineering velocity.
  • Use generative AI and code-reasoning models to reverse-engineer, refactor and move monolithic legacy calculation engines onto modular microservices.
  • Set up end-to-end MLOps pipelines (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, MLflow) covering model tracking, validation, deployment, fairness and interpretability, in line with model governance and ethical AI policy.
  • Lead delivery of cross-asset XVA technology programs, including moving CVA and XVA stress testing engines to the target framework.
  • Be the main technical partner for quants, financial engineers, trading desks and risk officers, turning models (SIMM, VaR, Greeks, Monte Carlo simulations) into production software.
  • Run cross-functional pods using scaled Agile, handling technical debt, milestones, release planning and resourcing across geographically spread teams.
  • Make sure solutions meet Basel III/IV, FRTB, Dodd-Frank and other global rules for market risk and counterparty valuation.
  • Keep data integrity, cybersecurity, audit readiness, disaster recovery (HA/DR) and operational resiliency at the highest standard on tier-1 production systems.
  • Weigh risk in technical and business decisions to protect the firm's reputation and client assets.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, distributed systems architecture and technical leadership within institutional financial services, tier-1 investment banks, hedge funds or high-scale technology firms.
  • 4+ years in a senior leadership or lead architect role, guiding high-performing teams spread across locations.
  • A record of delivering large enterprise digital transformations and legacy-to-cloud modernization programs.
  • Deep Java skills (Spring Boot, Core Java, concurrency) and Python skills (AsyncIO, NumPy, Pandas).
  • Proven experience designing event-driven architectures, distributed data fabrics, caching systems (Hazelcast, Redis, Apache Ignite) and streaming with Apache Kafka.

Conditions

Full-time position based in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States.

Base salary range is $176,720.00 - $265,080.00.
