Customer Engineer - PDC (SEM Inspection & Metrology)

Description

The company makes and services equipment used to produce semiconductor chips and advanced displays, including tools for next-generation chips used in AI.

This Customer Engineer role is in the PDC SEM inspection and metrology area, working directly with customers on the tools they run.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and upgrade PDC SEM-based inspection systems.
• Diagnose equipment faults with standard methods, getting help from senior engineers when needed.
• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on electron beam, vacuum, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Help customers improve defect inspection performance and yield.
• Learn process flows and inspection requirements with customers and internal teams.
• Train and mentor junior engineers.
• Keep in direct contact with customers to protect tool uptime and performance.

Requirements

• An associate degree, technical training, or equivalent experience is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 4-7 years of experience supporting semiconductor equipment is preferred.
• Experience with SEM tools or e-beam inspection systems.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with vacuum systems, electron beam fundamentals, and precision motion systems.
• A basic understanding of semiconductor processes and defect and yield concepts.
• Solid communication skills and basic Microsoft Office knowledge.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed.

Conditions

Pay range: $37.00 - $51.20.

Location: Boise, ID.

Full-time, assignee or regular employee.

Travel: 20% of the time.

Relocation eligible.

Pay depends on location, hire grade, job knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity with current team members.

For sales roles, the posted range is Target Total Cash, the base salary plus target bonus at 100% goal achievement.

Physical demands include extensive walking and standing, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, working at height, lifting up to 35 lbs, distinguishing colors, working near electricity, tolerating noise, and using hand and power tools.

Much of the work happens in a clean room, so appropriate personal protective equipment is required, such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
