Description

The company is looking for someone who enjoys working on complex technical products and improving processes in a customer service setting.

You would analyse how technical parts fail, then work out likely root causes with a team of technical experts.

The role is Customer Support Projects Engineer in the CS DUV Mature Products & Services UIR team, which sits within the company's customer service group.

You will join a creative, dynamic team where colleagues collaborate closely, and you can choose your own approach to tasks and problems.

Responsibilities

  • Install equipment at customer sites, covering new systems, upgrades and relocations on the PAS platform.
  • Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and support co-workers and customers in isolating and resolving problems.
  • Monitor, maintain and tune equipment every day to improve performance and prevent failures.
  • Tell users which actions will correct a malfunction, and do so promptly.
  • Teach customers how to operate equipment and perform routine maintenance, and answer their questions professionally.
  • Handle administrative and coordination work: changes, pass-downs, work orders, field service, system problems and monthly reports.
  • Write clear, accurate technical reports on your own.
  • Support less experienced the company colleagues where needed.

Requirements

  • Vocational degree in Mechanical Engineering (MBO Level 4 / MTS), or a higher vocational degree (HBO) in precision engineering such as automotive engineering, aviation technology or mechatronics engineering.
  • Preferable: troubleshooting or maintenance experience with automotive, mechatronics, mechanical or industrial equipment, in addition to a technical education.
  • Solid skills in service, process, project and change management.
  • Strong technical background and a drive to find solutions.
  • Problem analysis skills.
  • Excellent professional communication in English.
  • Proactive, results-driven and pragmatic.
  • Zero-defect quality mindset.
  • Flexible and comfortable in changing environments.
  • Eagerness to keep learning and widen your skill set.
  • Strong influencing skills, able to motivate, steer and convince people at every level without formal authority.
  • Able to perform under high pressure, without a standard nine-to-five approach.

Conditions

Valid driver's license required.

Able to travel worldwide without restrictions.

Willing to travel frequently, around 70% of the time.

Willing to stay abroad for periods of 3 weeks or 6 to 8 weeks each time.

Based in the Netherlands.

No shift work.

The role requires access to controlled technology under the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.), so candidates must be legally authorised to access it before starting. The company may proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible if business needs require it.
