Description

The company is a search AI business. Its cloud-based search, security and observability offerings help organizations put AI to work.

This is a people management role for the Global UX engineering team. The team builds and maintains the company's design system and React component library, along with the shared patterns, tokens and tools that keep products consistent, accessible and high quality.

You will work day to day with the team's Tech Lead, who sets technical direction and architecture. Your focus is people, roadmap and delivery: hiring and growing engineers, building a realistic roadmap, and keeping the team aligned with Design and Product leadership on what ships and when.

The ideal person has led design system or platform teams, can weigh long-term platform work against ongoing requests from other teams, and can set a dependable delivery schedule for the wider organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of engineers who build and maintain the design system and other shared UI infrastructure across Global UX.
  • Run the team's delivery rhythm: sprint planning, quarterly roadmap, outcomes and status updates for stakeholders across the company.
  • Handle hiring, onboarding, performance reviews and career development for the team.
  • Shape team culture and health in a fully distributed, async-first setup.
  • Represent Global UX in cross-functional planning with engineering, design and product leaders.
  • Clear the way for the team by negotiating dependencies, resolving organizational friction and raising risks early.
  • Measure design system adoption and health (usage, satisfaction, migration progress) and use the results to set roadmap priorities.
  • Keep in touch with consuming teams, collect their feedback, and make sure their needs shape the roadmap.
  • Back the team's experiments with AI-assisted design-to-code workflows and developer tools, weighing innovation against delivery commitments.

Requirements

  • Prior experience managing engineers who build design systems, component libraries, or other widely used shared UI or platform infrastructure.
  • Experience running delivery, including sprint and quarterly planning, roadmapping and tracking outcomes for a team that serves many internal stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of frontend engineering (React, TypeScript, component architecture), enough to make sound technical tradeoffs with your Tech Lead and engineers.
  • A record of hiring, developing and retaining engineers, including growing people into more senior roles.
  • Strong stakeholder management. You can share the roadmap, tradeoffs and risks with engineering, design and product leaders.
  • A history of balancing foundational platform work against urgent feature requests from consuming teams.
  • Clear, thorough written and verbal communication, ideally with experience in a distributed, async-first team.
  • Experience using usage, satisfaction and migration data to guide roadmap decisions.
  • A collaborative leadership style that earns your engineers' trust without you needing to be the most technical person in the room.
  • Interest in how AI is changing design-to-code workflows and developer tooling, and willingness to help the team adopt new practices responsibly.

Conditions

Pay is base salary only. The role has no variable compensation component.

Salary ranges reflect external market benchmarks, internal pay equity, and the responsibilities and complexity of each role. The final offer within the range depends on relevant experience, skills and expertise, fit with the role requirements, and the scope of the position.

Typical starting base salary range: €55,800 to €88,300 EUR.

The company is fully distributed, and many roles offer flexible locations and schedules.

The company's technology is subject to US and other countries' export controls and licensing. Individuals located in or nationals of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria or Russia, including the annexed Ukrainian territories of Crimea, DNR, LNR, Kherson or Zaporizhzhia, may need an export license as a condition of employment. National origin or nationality does not affect eligibility.

The company welcomes people with disabilities. Accommodation requests made during recruiting receive a reply within 24 business hours of submission.

Benefits

  • Pay is based on the work you do, not your previous salary.
  • Health coverage for you and your family in many locations.
  • A flexible calendar, with flexible locations and schedules for many roles.
  • A generous number of vacation days each year.
  • The company matches financial donations and volunteer service up to $2,000 (or the local currency equivalent).
  • Up to 40 hours each year for volunteer projects you choose.
  • At least 16 weeks of parental leave.
  • Benefits are designed to be equivalent across regions, though rules differ by location.
